Putting an end to some leaks and rumors that surfaced earlier in the month, Verizon Wireless has launched the DROID RAZR M and DROID RAZR HD smartphones in an additional color. The new color is blue and it will be joining the existing black and white models. That said, aside from the change in color — the handset specs and pricing remain the same.

With that in mind, the release of these handsets in blue do offer a nice time for a revisit. Sure, neither of these devices are brand new or sporting super high-end specs at this time, but they may be good for those shopping on a budget. The RAZR M is now free on a two-year agreement and the RAZR HD is down to $99.99 (also on a two-year agreement).

You can get a look at the new colors from the images here in the post. The RAZR M is sitting above and the RAZR HD is sitting below. As you can see from the pics, neither are covered in blue. These handsets follow the color patterns of the previously available models. Basically, that amounts to a blue strip around the handset. Otherwise, both devices are sporting protection to include Corning Gorilla Glass and KEVLAR.

The DROID RAZR M has a 4.3-inch display at 960 x 540 along with 8GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 2000 mAh battery and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera. The DROID RAZR HD has a 4.7-inch display at 1280 x 720, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 2530 mAh battery and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera.

Both handsets are powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor which is paired with 1GB of RAM. Bottom line here, it looks like Verizon Wireless has expanded the lifespan of the RAZR M and RAZR HD by adding another color. And while this truly is nothing more than a new color handset, we suppose it is nice to have the option available.
