We learned earlier in the week that US Cellular was just about ready to begin rolling out an update for those rocking a Samsung Galaxy S 4. This one will be arriving as Android 4.3 and given the update has begun rolling out, there is now a full changelog so users will know what to expect. US Cellular Galaxy S 4 users will see their handset bump to version R970VXUAMJA and will be getting a few features and more than a handful of updates to pre-installed apps.

Of course, as we have been expecting with the Samsung Android 4.3 update — this one is adding support for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Or in other words, those with a US Cellular Galaxy S 4 can now get and use the Galaxy Gear — provided they are willing to shell out the additional $300 needed to make the purchase. This update is also adding support for Samsung KNOX.

Otherwise, those pre-installed apps that are being updated include the following; City ID, Mobile TV, MobiTiles, Slacker Radio, TRD, WiFi Now, YND, Mobile Security and Amazon Shopping. With the update detailed, US Cellular Galaxy S 4 users now have two options to consider — sit back and wait for the update notification to arrive or take the pro-active approach and try to grab it now.

The former is the simpler of the two and involves sitting back, waiting for the notification and then following the prompts. The latter isn’t difficult by any means, but it does require the user to navigate to Menu -> Settings -> More -> System Update to get the process started. We have yet to see many reports of the update arriving for users, however US Cellular has confirmed the rollout has begun on the official Facebook page.
