Today we have some excellent news for all you Tumblr fans that have been waiting for a better Android experience straight from Tumblr themselves. This afternoon they’ve just released their all-new redesigned and improved app for Android complete with a Holo-inspired user interface and more. Check it out after the break.

With over 100 million blogs and 72 million posts per day Tumblr isn’t slowing down anytime soon. And now things look to only be getting better with a brand new and seriously improved Android app. First off though, sadly it still does not have GIF support – which was basically the only thing we truly wanted anyways right.

Using a similar Holo-inspired design guideline the new Tumblr app for Android is smooth, clean, and familiar. Using a flat and simple top bar, with what appears to be a nicer card-style layout for images. Of course you can swipe between tabs, and it finally looks amazing on tablets. All the photos pop out while viewing posts on mobile, and they even have some fancy new animations as well.

Being able to post or do anything all from your home screen with the Tumblr Widget is nice, and we can’t forget the ability to seamlessly manage multiple blogs at once. The interface is nice but still seems a bit choppy at times, but the new post animation is a nice touch and gives it that extra polished feel. Get it from the link below and enjoy a brand new Tumblr experience on Android.
