Did you notice that there is a severe lack of Transformers games at the Google Play Store? I’m sure you didn’t think about it, but now that you have... right? Well, Hasbro, Backflip Studios (developer and publisher), and Space Ape Games (game developer) are coming together and teaming up like the Constructicons to make Devastator, to bring to you what is probably the first legit Transformers game on Android – Transformers: Earth Wars.

Transformers: Earth Wars will not be an action game like you’re expecting it to be – but a real time strategy (RTS) game which pits Autobots versus Decepticons, but this time, on your phone. Oh yeah! Players will need to pick a side to wage war – and the developers are bringing the original voices of Optimus Prime as he leads the Autobots, and Megatron to lead the evil Decepticon forces. Check out the trailer below to get a handle on the artwork and the possible gameplay.

After picking a side, players will need to put together a team of playable characters, raid enemy bases for Energon, and build a space-bridge to Cybertron for reinforcements. This happens as players go head-to-head in real-time against other players online. Transformers meets Clash of Clans – we still can’t see it, but we’re willing to wait.

The game will be free-to-download and will IAPs. The developers are saying that the game will be released globally – we hope so – with the exclusion of Japan and China. Wait for the game in the second quarter of 2016.
