TiVo owners out there that use an Android smartphone and want to be able to control their TiVo DVRs can grab a newly updated app and do just that. The app is called TiVo Commander and it is not affiliated with TiVo at all. The app is a clone of the official TiVo controllers for iOS devices. You can grab the newly updated app on the Android Market right now.

The new update brings the app to version 3.0 and was made this week. The app is a full remote control for your TiVo with integrated keyboard input. The app allows the user to browse all the recorded shows, watch shows and delete, search for shows/movies/actors, and shows the credits for movies and shows. The app also has a feature to suggest other shows and movies.

Another cool feature is the ability to record individual shows and to add or modify season passes. The update brings a fix for person view and adds in the ability to reconnect with settings if the app is used for multiple DVRs. The app also has better handling of connection timeouts and season passes work when all shows are picked.
