This is probably the ultimate device leak, when someone makes public your device image renders to be used for official marketing materials. Or at least makes a better job of doing high quality renders. This looks to be what happened here with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 5. If you were disappointed at the quality of the leaked images that came before, well, this is your lucky day, it seems.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 looks set to be launched at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event on August 13, 2015 at the Lincoln Center in New York City, together with the rumored Samsung Galaxy Edge Plus. The images below aren’t official, rendered by Ivo Marci (also responsible for a few iPhone 7 shots) but they do make the Galaxy Note 5 look oh-so-handsome in black, don’t you think?

The curves on the event invite looked to be alluding to the Samsung Galaxy Edge Plus, but here we are looking at a decidedly curved back plate for the Note 5. The curve gives the phablet a premium look to match the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, not like the semi-premium look of the Galaxy Note 4 when it was compared to the Galaxy S5 last year.

From what we have gathered, the phablet will sport a 5.7-inch QuadHD (2560×1440) Super AMOLED display, powered by either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 or an Exynos 7422 chipset and ably supported by 4GB of RAM. As you can see from the pictures, the S Pen is there, and we’re not really concerned how it pops out of the phone’s body. We’ll know in a week or so. For now, enjoy the images, y’all.

      • Yet another image set that does not show the direct surface of the power button side. That is where another render that fits the actual photos for all other areas of the device show another pin slot. Why no images of the power button side, but multiple ones of the volume button side?

The case render at Amazon fits the images of all areas showing. The final part of the device not seen yet is the power button side. Odd.

      • Thinking the same thing. It leads to wonder if the renders are anywhere correct. Even if not it should take much effort to render that side.

      • Even on other renders there’s a tray on the top of the phone. So who knows who may have both

      • There’s already been leaks from another case maker showing the actual phone from all angles so already seen everything except the inside of that tray.

  1. 1/ Most people use cases, so the way the (back) looks is irrelevant.
2/ Many, if not most Note users are power users, so external sd card and removable batteries are essential for a sale.

I think that this device won’t sell that well. Most casual users will buy an S6 or equivalent, and/or an iPhone instead.

Samsung has dropped the ball on this one.

    • if the battery is 4000ma like they say, coupled with fast charging, and a longer lasting li-poly rather than cheap li-ion, i dont see much of a problem other than if you want to play games for over 4 hours and thwn another 4 hours more. i dont have a problem with the lack of micro sd; you do have 128gb option! (expensive :/)

      • but is faster! even though it probably wont make a difference. and its prettier! even though it will be in a case and everyone wont be able to tell if its a note 3 or 5. and more importantly, its premium and may all sheep throw their money to feel better about themselves??

      • the one advantage i see in large i ternal memory though is indtalling large apps with no fuzz around.

    • Until it is officially announced it’s a terrible assumption that they have dropped the ball. With things like portable battery packs a removable battery is completely pointless. The sd card is the only thing that would not make sense to remove. Even that is an incredibly under utilized feature in most peoples devices. I work in a cell phone retail enviroment and have seen thousands of phones and very very few actually have sd cards in them. Many of the people who do use them are not fully utilizing the space anyway. Yes, it is a concern for some but less of a concern for the majority. The majority is what companies will plan around and design phones for.

  2. so no SD, no replaceable battery, no USB-C, no ejecting pen, but we get a metal edge and glass back, a faster chip, oh boy, i’m really excited. Time to look at the competition. When is Samsung really going to make a statement.

    • Usbc. Lol. What do you want? An ejecting pen? Youre more excited over a damn pen being ejected more than a better processor ?

Wow. Maybe you should switch to apple.

      • I hate Apple and would never turn to the dark side. My point was they’re not doing anything. Frankly don’t care about an ejecting pen, that’s why i put it last. It’s something else they could have done and probably won’t. Any idea what USB-C does to charging time and data transfer? Since you can’t replace or upgrade the battery, charging the phone quickly might be very important. I’ll take that over a faster processor anyday. Do you really sit there with your Note 4 thinking it’s too slow or I wish I could open more windows?

  3. is it curved at only one side because this is what i clearly see and if this is the case samsung did the biggest mistake ever!!

  4. I am not really interested, I feel pissed I have a spare battery charger, and the allcast hub and I use daily so I am vested in this brand, I guess I don’t ” need” a new cellphone every year, so I may just sit this one out, I don’t see a reason to lose features from my Note 4 to gain aesthetics…..WOW…I’m not ” excited” thinking about trying another brand, year after year same o same o…But hey it’s life. Me and my Blackberry Classic……

  5. Let’s not forget that these photos are unofficial. I honestly believe that the Note 5 will retain it’s SD card slot and removable battery, while the S6 Edge+ will not have these features similar to the S6 Edge. The Note 5 will be for techies, while the S6 Edge+ for astethic purposes.

It’s the only thing that makes sense. If I am wrong, then I have to highly question Samsung’s business model. Apple isn’t currently on cloud 9 because they make the best phones, it’s because their business plan is top notch.

  6. There is no SD card slot… I work in a AT&T retail store and our Samsung rep showed us both devices and sadly no SD card on either.

  7. No sales pitch, he didn’t know the exact specs because they wanted to leave everything for the revel at the unpack event or when the next big leak is reveled. Other than screen quality, the curved sides on the back of the note 5 made it comfortable to hold. Pretty much an oversized S6 with more power under the hood.

  8. Killing me my sound just went on my note 3 and I am being teased with pics of these two phones and I am sure that they will be very expensive and very interested in the new Note 🙁
