The Tesco Hudl tablet was unveiled just last week and as was promised, that tablet is now available for purchase. The Hudl has arrived as a 7-inch device with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, but much of the focus seems to be on the pricing. The tablet is budget priced and those looking to check it out should be able to find it at roughly 1000 retail locations. Of course, it is also available for online sales.

In regards to the budget pricing, Tesco has the tablet priced at £119, however they have also said those with a Clubcard will be able to pick one up for “less than £100.” Pricing aside, that 7-inch display has a resolution of 1440 x 900 and the tablet is powered by a quad-core 1.5GHz processor which has been paired with 1GB of RAM.

Other specs for the Hudl include 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, Mali 400 quad-core GPU, Bluetooth and dual-band WiFi. The basics such as an accelerometer, gyroscope and other sensors are also included. As well you will find micro-HDMI, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a pair of speakers that sit on the backside of the tablet.

Tesco will also have the Hudl tablet available in a few other colors. The product listings show the tablet in black, purple, blue and red, though as of this time the only color option not sporting a coming soon tag is the black. And aside from the tablet itself, Tesco also has a range of accessories available including a soft-touch folding case.

  1. So much for the release of the Tesco Hudl being something that indicates Tesco is getting back on track. Ordered one early this morning, no confirmation email but checked and yes due for delivery tomorrow, Tuesday. Listed as a confirmed order. No email confirming despatch so been checking all evening and now 10pm it is listed as “Order Cancelled”. Wanted this for a birthday present so thank you very much Tesco’s. I order loads of things from Amazon and never have a problem. Will stick to them and forget Tesco in future.
