Chromecast now supports YouTube live streams

Coming without any formal announcement from Google, it has been discovered the Chromecast supports YouTube live streams. There is a catch for Android users though. At this time the live streams appear to be supported only when using a desktop browser. It seems likely to believe Android support is coming, and possibly we'll learn about that when Google offers a more official announcement.

Susan Wojcicki, Google’s Ad boss, will now head up YouTube

Susan Wojcicki, who has been in charge of Google’s Advertising and Commerce division, will be taking over YouTube. In a statement, Google CEO Larry Page said “Susan has a healthy disregard for the impossible and is excited about improving YouTube in ways that people will love”. With her new appointment, further management moves will occur, with one person taking on a mystery role.

Google’s VP says they knew there were ‘problems’ with YouTube comments

YouTube’s commenting system was a mess prior to Google+. When Google stepped in to involve their social platform, it took a drastic step toward ending the misogyny and blind hate. Google+, by nature, gives moderators better tools for weeding out those who want to be rude. It didn’t sit well with some YouTubers, drawing petitions for Google to revert back, even causing the founder of YouTube to lash out.
