Qualcomm takes back DMCA threat on Github projects

The DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) is, more often than not, brandished too zealously and sometimes with little prior investigation in a "shoot first, ask questions later" style of legal (mis)management. That might just be the case here when Qualcomm issued takedown notices on some Github repositories, including one of CyanogenMod's, but then retracting it later.

Lifelog gets update, some features for Xperia devices only

Lifelog, the activity-tracking application developed by Sony originally for its Xperia devices, has gotten a huge update, going from 1.0.A.1.8 to 2.0.A.0.12. The reason for a huge jump in the build number is that they have made a lot of changes from the previous version. However, some of these added features are available for Xperia devices only.

Sony Xperia Z, ZL, ZR, Tablet Z to get Android 4.4 next month

It was just a few month ago when Sony rolled out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to some of its early 2013 devices but it seems the manufacturer isn't done yet. Up on their respective support pages, Sony has scheduled the Xperia Z, Xperia XL, and Xperia ZR smartphones, as well as the Xperia Tablet Z for another software refresh in May.
