DroidMote lets XPERIA Play owners control Android tablet games

There are a lot of exciting developments in the Android gaming world, but at the end of the day, touchsceen controls are still a limiting factor for complex games. Owners of Sony's XPERIA Play have a built-in solution, but what if you want to play your games with glorious button-mashing accuracy on a screen more than a few inches wide? If you find yourself in this conundrum, and you've got an enviable amount of Android hardware lying around, you might want to invest in DroidMote, an app that allows the XPERIA Play to remotely control games on any Android tablet.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light heads to Xperia Play first

Sony Ericsson and Square Enix have announced a deal that will see one of the new video games from the game publisher coming to the Android-powered Xperia Play first. The game is called Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. The game will be available for the Play in November. There is no indication of how long the game will be an exclusive for the Play.

Sony Ericsson Nozomi tipped with 1.5GHz dual-core and 342 PPI display

It should go without saying that 342 PPI on a smartphone display is big, it's bad, it's amazing. One of the things that makes the iPhone such a blockbuster device (amongst many things, I'm sure) is the fact that it (the iPhone 4, that is) has a 326 PPI on its display. That's THICK and it makes brightness and sharpness tip and top. What we're to understand today is that Sony Ericsson will be punching that PPI (pixels per inch) directly in the nose with a device currently code-named Nozomi. Will this dual-core 1.5GHz device bring the beatdown, or will it come out much, much too late?

If AT&T is the network you prefer and you have been waiting for a cool Android phone to land the good news is that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play 4G will be coming to AT&T soon. By soon we mean September 18 and the smartphone will be very cheap with a 2-year contract at only $49.99. I am sure they will sell a bunch of the devices at that price. The Xperia 4G is the PlayStation smartphone that we have covered extensively in the past.

We have seen both the SE Xperia Play and the Xperia Arc more than a few times. Today they've both been spotted in different flavors than we are used to. First off is the Xperia Play wearing a fancy Orange outfit and then the Xperia Arc is dress in White. These pictures are coming out of a SE launch conference in Asia so they could just be special devices, or we might see these flavors hit the shelves in select regions.
