AT&T Sony Xperia ion with 4G LTE arrives June 24 for $99

AT&T has just announced another 4G LTE handset for the summer in the Sony Xperia ion and it will be available later this month. Announced back at CES in January the ion will be Sony's first AT&T 4G LTE smartphone and it comes packing pretty decent specs given the price. Today AT&T has confirmed its availability of June 24th for the low price of just $99.

Sony Xperia Ion leak suggests June release

While the Sony Xperia S has been making friends and influencing people overseas, its American cousin the Xperia Ion has been patiently and silently waiting in the wings at AT&T. There's been no official word on when Sony's flagship device will come to the US carrier, but a sharp-eyed member at Droid Matters spotted an advertisement in his Gmail inbox stating that the phone was scheduled for a June release. The ad links to a Sony page, not AT&T, so presumably the manufacturer made the error.

AT&T Sony Xperia ION 4G LTE pricing details emerge

A couple of weeks ago at CES Sony finally detailed their new Xperia ION smartphone to be powered by AT&T 4G LTE. With a dual-core processor, large display and an ultra fast connection we are starting to see a glimpse of where Sony plans to take the brand now they own Ericsson's half. New information now shares the pricing for their upcoming device.

Sony Xperia ion and Xperia S Hands-on

Sony has dropped the "Ericsson" and outed a pair of highly-desirable smartphones at CES 2012 this week, the LTE-toting Xperia ion for AT&T's 4G network, and its Euro sibling, the HSPA+ Xperia S. Both have a squared-off aesthetic and a 4.3-inch 1280 x 720 HD display, running Gingerbread on a  1.5GHz dual-core processor with an ICS upgrade tipped for Q2.
