Motorola XOOM Ad [Laptop Cracker]

Behold the newest member of the Verizon / Motorola family's ad set, one we're calling "Laptop Cracker" because of the striking action taken by the man in the video 3 seconds in. He's got what appears to be a 13-inch nondescript notebook which once he opens, he cracks directly in half, pushing the top back to the underside of the base. Once the top is pulled up and underneath the base, the laptop is cracked in half once again, the man turning up and toward the camera, now showing it to be a brand new Motorola XOOM.

Motorola Xoom Rooted Already

Looks like the Motorola Xoom has already been rooted. It's been released for just one day and Koush as we all know him by has got a Xoom Root Guide already posted online. Since the Xoom is a Google Experience device he said it was a pretty easy device to root once he got the proper support for full fastboot. It ships with fastboot support but it is limited. Verizon to no longer require data plan with Xoom purchase

Verizon originally was going to require customers that would like to buy the Motorola Xoom to also purchase a data plan. You could order the Xoom and sign up for a data plan and then cancel after the first month for those that want to use it for Wifi only. That required a 1 month $20 payment as well as paying for the $35 dollar activation fee. Today Verizon has came out and changed that.

HTC ChaCha and Motorola Xoom both get lawsuits for device names

Looks like both HTC and Motorola have lawsuits coming at them this week over the names of some recently announces devices. If you have ever heard of, or used ChaCha before then you probably could see this Lawsuit coming from the day HTC announced the ChaCha. Apparently there is a company called ChaCha that is one of those Question Answering Services. They have recently filed lawsuits for trademark infringement on HTC over the use of the ChaCha name. Motorola XOOM Limited GOLD Edition Revealed

It appears that Motorola now has at least 3 different hardware versions of its soon to be wildly popular Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet, XOOM. Motorola XOOM Has Bootloader That’s Both Unlockable and Relockable

As if to throw the entire developer world for a loop in the face of today's realization that the ATRIX 4G has a completely locked bootloader, Motorola Mobility's Twitter account has just gone ahead and tweeted the fact that the XOOM will have an unlockable and lockable bootloader. This function will, they say, enable developers to access hardware for development, and as they don't say, allow hackers to sing and dance with the system, tearing it down to the ground and remaking it in their own image.
