Xoom 2

XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition tablets confirmed

Motorola's much-rumored new tablets have been made official, in the UK at least, with the 10.1-inch Motorola XOOM 2 and 8.2-inch Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition both being confirmed today. Each packing a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, splash-resilience and a pair of cameras - 1.3-megapixels upfront, 5-megapixels on the back - the only real disappointment is that they run Android 3.2 Honeycomb rather than 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Inside, each packs 1GB of RAM along with 16GB of storage. There are various preloaded business apps on the bigger tablet, while the Media Edition gets Motorola's music/video streaming app preloaded. The Media Edition also boasts 178-degree viewing angles. The XOOM 2 is 253.9 mm x 173.6 mm x 8.8 mm and 599g, 100g less than its first-gen predecessor, while the XOOM 2 Media Edition is 139 mm x 216 mm x 8.99 mm and 386g. Both have Gorilla Glass. No word on pricing, but they'll each arrive in the UK midway through November. [youtube x16LUdsMPqw] [gallery] [via SlashGear]

8-inch Motorola XOOM 2 outed in holiday print ad for 399 Euros

It looks like the much-rumored XOOM 2 is spending the holidays in the Emerald Isle. A print ad from the Irish arm of Carphone Warehouse has outed the new Honeycomb tablet, this time in its smaller 8.2-inch form. The Wifi tablet will run you €399.90, or about $545 - US residents, remember that electronics are generally more expensive across the pond, so an American price of $450-$500 is more likely.

Motorola Xoom 2 models spotted in Verizon systems with 4G LTE and 64GB storage

The new Motorola Xoom 2's have been getting plenty of love lately but we still don't have anything too concrete regarding these tablets other than the few and far between leaked details. We've seen plenty of pictures and have heard rumors of a November launch date but are still waiting for confirmation. Recently they've been spotted in Verizon's inventory system giving us hope they are coming soon.

Motorola Xoom “Family Edition” hitting retail stores

This is an odd one, what we have here is a Motorola Xoom Family Edition that has been spotted and opened up for the cameras from what sources are calling a big box electronic store. We aren't sure where yet but this Family Edition Xoom looks a bit different, and also seems to have all sorts of family and kid-friendly software pre-installed. Go big Moto, go big.

Motorola Xoom 2 tablets launching in November

Motorola is prepping a few tablets to refresh their lineup from the original Xoom. We first saw what appears to be a 7" Motorola Tab in the wild earlier this month, then more pictures leaked last week. We have heard about an 8.2" media edition so they might even have a 7, 8.2, and 10.1" in the works but that has yet to be confirmed. New details are claiming the 7" Motorola tablet will launch this November.

Motorola XOOM 2 Revealed in leaked photos [UPDATE: More photos revealed]

It appears that the XOOM will truly have a followup in the future, the very near future it seems if these photos are to be taken as images of a real live test unit of the upcoming tablet from Motorola. This device is said by our source here to be tagged with the product number MZ617 and indeed called XOOM 2 (at least for the time being, that is.) The source of the photo also mentions that there's an HDMI and microUSB port (or two ports, one single port would mean MHL), some "big" physical flush buttons on the back, a SIM card slot, and "no SD slot at first glance." Sound alright so far?

Motorola Tablet Hits the FCC, Might be the Xoom LTE or Xoom 2

This is a bit of interesting news that will surely make a few readers happy, and also probably a few upset for those still waiting on the original Xoom to get upgraded to 4G LTE. What looks to be a Motorola Tablet with 4G LTE radios has been seen clearing the FCC. Being seen only by the FCC ID IHDP56LU2. Interesting bit of news that is for sure, I sure hope Verizon and Motorola update us Xoom owners before launching something else or they might have an angry mob headed their way.
