AROMA manages file system in recovery mode
On Android, file managers are a dime a dozen - in fact, considering that most of them are free, they're considerably cheaper than that. But how about when you enter your custom recovery for a little ROM flashing action, and you've forgotten where your file os, or you're using the wrong SD card, et cetera? AROMA File Manager is here to help.

AT&T, Rogers HTC One X rooted
AT&T customers are still pretty upset at the arbitrary locked bootloader on the HTC One X, but at least they can do some basic modifications: root has been achieved. XDA Developers member Kenneth Penn has posted a one-click root solution for the LTE version of the One X, and it should also work on the phone headed for Canadian carrier Rogers as well. You'll need a Windows PC and a basic understanding of Android, but as far as root process go, it's relatively easy.

HTC One S ROM ported to the EVO 3D
The HTC One S is a hot phone, but for those rocking the HTC EVO 3D you can now get a stable version of Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich and the latest Sense UI 4.0 along with Beats audio integration for your 3D. This was first released back in March as a alpha build and wasn't very stable, but today its earned new life and is coming along great.

Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch ICS update leaked
Ah, there hasn't been enough news lately about the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch lately - my fingers were just starting to recover. An enterprising XDA user named "sfhub" has posted what seems to be an official Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Now Network phone, compatible only with the specific version of the device. The leak comes after various international versions of the Galaxy S II have been updated, not to mention leaks for AT&T's Galaxy S II and Galaxy S II Skyrocket.

Sony Xperia Arc S ROM ported to Galaxy Nexus
When considering Android modders and the projects they choose to devote themselves to, the question "Why?" often arises. And the answer, almost universally, is "why not?" Such is the case with GNexusTimeScape, a new ROM for the Galaxy Nexus from noted XDA member koaaN. The custom ROM takes the interface, apps and widgets from the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S - an older, smaller and considerably weaker phone - and puts them front and center on the Galaxy Nexus.

Are you Slovenia's biggest Android fan, but bummed that you can't download apps that aren't available in your country? Then the latest mod from XDA might be right up your alley. XDA member Deeco7 has posted a modified version of the "Vending.apk" Google Play Store app file, with the aim of allowing anyone to download any app, regardless of their own location or the restrictions built into the app. The modified app works with Android 2.2 or later, and you don't even need root to install it.

Flash Blink App uses camera LED for call notifications
We see tons and tons of random applications or development in the world of Android but every once in a while I see something interesting and unique like Flash Blink that I just have to share with our readers. Meet Flash Blink, an app developed to use the camera flash on our Android smartphones to notify users of an incoming call. No more irritating ringtones, just use that flash.

HTC Sensation mod adds uncompressed video recording
We all want a better camera and better video recording. Most of the time the abilities of your smartphone's camera are limited by its hardware, but in one case, some good old-fashioned hackery makes 1080p recordings on the reliable HTC Sensation much, much higher in quality by easing the compression standard and giving them double the mbps rating. If you're running an Ice Cream Sandwich ROM on your Sensation (and if you're considering this, odds are overwhelming that this is the case) then XDA user NODO-GT has a tweak that you'll certainly want to try.

Well folks, that sure was fast. After ASUS released their official bootloader unlock tool only hours ago, the amazing developer community we all love and trust have already released ClockworkMod Recovery for the quad-core powered tablet. It is available now and will require a few ADB commands but for those interested this is good news.

Emulate classic Capcom arcade games with CPSEmu
We're still a little miffed at Capcom for their continually limited Android support, but that doesn't mean we don't enjoy their games. If you share our compulsion for the classics of 2D gaming, you can now run arcade games designed for the CP System 2 with CPSEmu, another project from the developers behind the Neo Geo emulator NeoDroid. It works like any standard Android emulator, which means you won't be seeing it on the Android Market any time soon. Download it from this XDA thread.
