Xbox Smartglass lands on Android

Today may be mostly about the launch of Windows 8 for Microsoft, but there's also some big news for Android users to be found hiding within all the hullabaloo. Microsoft has launched Xbox Smartglass for Android phones, meaning that today you can use your Android handset as something of a second controller for your console. Before you can experience all of the features of Xbox Smartglass though, you'll need to connect your device to your console, which is done over your home Wi-Fi connection.

Microsoft’s Xbox Music service launching Tuesday and coming soon to Android

Microsoft has announced that its new music service is launching on Tuesday for a slew of devices. Sadly, Android is not among the initial device offerings, but Microsoft has confirmed that the Spotify competitor is coming to Android (and iOS) shortly after the initial launch. For the million and millions of Xbox gamers that have been hoping our Android devices would get the same pleasure that Windows Phone has -- that time could possibly be on the way. Samsung responds to Apple, Retina VS AMOLED

At the keynote presentation for the iPhone 4, Steve Jobs took a few shots at other displays for not being as good as the Retina display that is on the new iPhone. Well, this isn’t an exact quote but they are saying something along those lines.

Samsung Galaxy S hanging out at the FCC

This is good news and bad news. The Galaxy S is one of the most powerful Android handsets to be released in the near future. It will most likely be the phone to have for gaming, as it stands it has the best GPU out of all the current Androids and every other handset. Time for the bad news, it passed through the FCC with AT&T 3G bands.

Hummingbird Graphics Processor, Galaxy S

Well, this came as a complete surprise to me. The Galaxy S will be the strongest handset as far as graphics and gaming goes when it is released (unless something stronger is in the making). Once you pair this outstanding GPU with its beautiful SUPER AMOLED display and powerful processor, you will have a handset that truly rivals today’s mobile gaming platforms.
