Most of us don't know who Martin Cooper is, he was the first person to make a call on a handheld cell phone prototype in 1973 and he is named on the patent “radio telephone system” filed that same year. Android now has some strong endorsers in the inventor of Linux and now the inventor of cellphones.

Firstview HK Electronic Limited presents its SmartBook

Firstview HK Electronic Limited has presented a SmartBook that only cost $65 to make. It's called the Nike PC706V, it will has a 7-inch screen (800 × 480), a VIA 8505 ARM 9 clocked at 533Mhz with 128 MB of RAM, a 2GB capacity, WiFi, a USB drive and a 2100 mAh battery that should last 4 hours. It has Android 1.6 installed but this could potentially be upgraded to Android 2.1.

HTC Supersonic Caught On Cam

Some lucky guy put together a quick first look at the upcoming HTC Supersonic. If you are not familiar with this Android device, it is slated to be the first WiMaxx/4G Android device to hit the US. This phone is set for a late spring or summer release this year for Sprint's 4G network. It joins the HTC HD2 in the 4.3 inch screen family but it stands alone with its WiMaxx capabilities. Droid Does Sense

Not to be out done by its younger brother, the Nexus One, the Droid now does Sense. HTC's custom Android UI dubbed Sense is the most popular version of any manufacturer's in-house UI. It is full of beautiful widgets (no pun intended) that has deep customization as well as many other options. The most notable features of Sense are the built Flash capabilities and native multi-touch integration.

Fully working Quake 2 and 3 ported to Droid

AndroidandMe, conducted Android bounty competition which they set some parameters for developers to go away and make some applications for Android. In return they would offer a developer $90 if they fulfilled the parameters and were the first to do so. The second set of parameters included porting Quake II to Android.
