Motorola Pax To Be a Dual-Core BlackBerry Killer!
Just hitting the wire is what our sources are calling the Motorola PAX. This will be a dual-core phone with a 3.5" screen but also a dedicated hardware keyboard in a candy bar shape -- no slider here. Basically this is an upgraded Motorola Droid Pro, or a Motorola XPRT we have seen it called as of late. To get an idea of the XPRT here is our full review.

Samsung Within Passes FCC with 4G WiMax
For a while everyone was starting to get a little worried as to whether we would be seeing the Samsung Galaxy S II hit the U.S. but this week it has plastered the news. It's safe to say most carriers will have it here by the end of August or so. Not only will the SGSII come in white but it has now leaked with WiMax on board as well as a version for AT&T and Verizon this week.

Motorola PHOTON 4G Officially Coming July 31st for $199
The next big dual-core phone coming from Motorola is the PHOTON 4G and it will be packing a kickstand and some WiMAX 4G speeds. Today they have officially announced that the Motorola PHOTON 4G will hit the streets starting July 31st for $200, and available for premier customers early on July 28th. The PHOTON 4G was announced back in June, then like recent Motorola phones we quickly learned it will have a locked bootloader.

Motorola Photon 4G Passes Through the FCC
The Motorola Phone 4G hasn't been seen in the news much since it was first revealed. We were live at the event and were lucky enough to get some hands-on video with the WiMAX packing smartphone. It is now appearing again via the FCC.

WiMax Goes Mid-Range with the Samsung Conquer 4G
Samsung has announced a very interesting phone recently that straddles the line between high and low end devices with a very curious mix of specs. The device mixes some of the standard features of today's superphones, 4G WiMax and a front facing camera specifically. Most of the other specs are very bland. Clearly as technology progresses so does our definition of high end.

HTC EVO 4G+ packs WiMAX into Sensation
HTC has quietly launched the HTC EVO 4G+, a new 4.3-inch qHD dual-core Android smartphone that's basically the company's latest Sensation variant. While ostensibly a WiBro Android smartphone for the Korean market, there's a fair chance that the EVO 4G+ could get a US launch on WiMAX networks. Like the Sensation, there's a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of internal storage and an 8-megapixel main camera with autofocus and a dual-LED flash, capable of recording 1080p HD video. Up front is a 1.3-megapixel camera, and there's MHL HDMI support for the USB 2.0 connection. HTC also throws in GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD card slot. Connectivity includes both HSPA/WCDMA and WiMAX (WiBro) support, along with quadband GSM/EDGE. There's HTC's Sense UI on top of Android, complete with HTC Watch for renting or purchasing video content, DLNA wireless streaming, stereo speakers and more. No word on when it will launch in Korea, nor indeed when it might make it to North America. [Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

New Bill Would Require Stricter 4G Definitions
4G has been a bit of a bitter subject for those who have any sort of technical understanding of the topic. There exists an organization, the International Telecommunications Union, who set the standard for what would constitute 4G long before the first "4G" network was deployed. To this day not a single "4G" network meets those requirements. Now a bill has been presented to the U.S. House of Representatives to force wireless carriers to provide more information to consumers about what constitutes their 4G network.

Samsung D600 to be Called Conquer 4G, Additional Details
Remember if you will back to the 26th of May when we first laid eyes and ears on the SPH-D600, a device that was set to be a mid-range phone rolling out with WiMAX capability, four physical Android buttons, and Android 2.3.3. Kind of odd for a mid-range phone at the moment, wouldn't you say? Additionally, this phone appeared to be set to have a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 480 x 320 resolution touchscreen and a 3.2-megapixel main camera.

If you happened to miss our last few posts you would have noticed we've been hanging out at the Motorola Event today in NYC. They announced some exciting new devices coming soon. A few of those are the Photon 4G, the Titanium, Triumph, and the XPRT. It was a busy day here in NYC but right now I'm here to show you the Photon 4G and its awesome kickstand. The Motorola Photon 4G has a unique diamond-like shape but under the hood it has all the features you'd want and love in an android phone.
