Samsung “Gear Glass” wearable rumored for Fall appearance

Google still has Glass in beta, but Samsung may be nipping at their heels. A new report suggests Samsung is working on a Google Glass competitor, and readying it for release later this year. The heads-up wearable is said to be called “Gear Glass”, suggesting it’s may be the one-sided wearable we’ve heard about previously. Google Glass pushed during Florida golf tournament

Google had offered Glass without invitation during a one-day sale a few weeks earlier, but more recently it seems they had been trying to sell the wearable to golfers. In what was dubbed "the first time they setup a sales display for the public," Google had a Glass booth setup at The Player's Championship golf tournament in Ponte Verde Beach, Florida.

Samsung books health-centric press event on May 28

The Korean manufacturer has let it be known in advance that it has scheduled something special for the morning of May 28 in San Francisco. However, with nothing but "a new conversation about health", Samsung has left the door open for speculation and guesswork of what it will all be about, including, of course, wearable devices.

Nod, the gesture control ring arrives for pre-order

Another entry has arrived in the wearable space today. This one is a ring called Nod that brings the promise of "beautiful, touchless interaction." Essentially, those wearing the Nod ring will be able to control items around them with a wave of the hand.
