Cool Verizon spot races onto TVs

If you're an Indy racing fan, Verizon has a cool new service that will help you keep up on your favorite racing team ... Team Verizon! The spot is for the Indy Car Mobile app, which follows the IZOD Indy Car Series. With the app, users can listen to in car audio, keep track of races with leader boards, highlights, and even special tweets from the drivers (I hope while not racing!). Upcoming features to include live in-car camera for Verizon sponsored drivers, press conference streaming and Indy Car Nation exclusive content. According to the YouTube page, the app currently follows Indy racers Will Power, Helio Castroneves & Ryan Briscoe.

LG Vortex due Nov 18; 1m Optimus One smartphones sold in a month

LG has confirmed that the Verizon version of their Optimus One Android smartphone - the Verizon Vortex - will land on November 18; meanwhile, in just over a month, the company has shifted one million of the devices. That includes Optimus One sales, together with Sprint and T-Mobile USA's own versions, the Optimus S and Optimus T. In fact, LG reckons that by the time it has finished rolling the Optimus One out across the 120 carriers and partners it has planned, it will be the company's first 10m-sales smartphone. LG Vortex for Verizon Free After Mail-In Rebate and New Contract

So, the LG Vortex may not be the high-end device to put an end to all other high-end devices, but we have already seen in a comparison chart that it's not that bad of a mid-range Android-based handset. And apparently Verizon feels the same way, as the company will be giving you the phone for free.

LG’s Android presence is very small in the United States. Many of the popular electronics maker’s handset’s overseas are Android based, and they’re pretty impressive. Here in the US the Android LG market is small but it may be growing larger with the LG Optimus One coming to Verizon under the name Vortex.
