AT&T and Verizon rumors point towards a joint Vodafone purchase
It wasn't all that long ago when we heard talk of Verizon buying out Vodafone's share of Verizon Wireless, however as of today it looks like the Vodafone related rumors have taken another turn. This latest rumor has Verizon partnering up with AT&T in an effort to make a bid for Vodafone. The details are coming by way of the Financial Times’ Alphaville blog who have the price at $245 billion.

HTC M7 spotted in Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse inventory listings
HTC is expected to announce the M7 smartphone on February 19. The company has previously confirmed the event, however they have yet to say exactly what they are going to be showing off. But on that note, it seems as if some carriers and retailers are beginning to get a bit of a head start. In this case we are referring to Vodafone Germany and Carphone Warehouse, who have both apparently listed the HTC M7 in their inventory system.

Samsung Galaxy S III quad-core 4G LTE hands-on
While roaming the halls at IFA this weekend we managed to stumble on a special Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone. What you'll see below is an exclusive plum colored quad-core Galaxy S III with 4G LTE from the folks at Vodafone. What's even better is this device also is running the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean from Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy S III priced and headed for five UK carriers
While those of us in the US patiently wait for Samsung to tell us which carriers will get their new Galaxy S III, those in the UK have a date - and generally don't have to worry about carriers, thanks to an inter-operable HSPA+ cellular infrastructure. (Not that we're bitter or anything.) But for those Brits that still want to get a nice juicy subsidy with their Galaxy S III, we've got good news: according to UK retailer Carphone Warehouse, no less than five of the UK's biggest carriers will be offering the phone with various incentives and monthly deals.

Vodafone begins registration for Galaxy S III updates
While the rest of us bear with Samsung's incessant teasing before its May 3rd announcement of "the next Galaxy", UK carrier Vodafone has jumped the gun a bit. They're already setting up for the release of what is almost certainly the Galaxy S III with a generic update registration page. The small banner uses the same font and galactic style as Samsung's own preview website, but doesn't mention a date. That's probably because it'll be a while after the press event itself that we actually see the phone released to retail.

Huawei Ascend G300 coming to Vodafone for just £100
What can you get for a hundred quid? If you're a Vodafone customer or intend to switch, you can get a pretty respectable Gingerbread phone. The Huawei Ascend G300 will launch on the UK carrier on April 13th for £100, or starting at £15.50 a month when bought in conjunction with a data contract . While nowhere near as powerful as some of the latest high-end phones, it's got a set of features that puts it squarely in the mid-range for a price that was previously reserved for small and generally weak smartphones.

Galaxy S II on Vodafone up next for Ice Cream Sandwich
Those with a Galaxy S II that are still patiently (or impatiently) awaiting the update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich we have some good news. After a few reports that the Vodafone UK SGSII would be getting the update soon, Vodafone themselves have confirmed the update has been approved and all systems are a go, the update will be available this week.

HTC One X and One S set for pre-order on Vodafone and Three UK

HTC's One series is inching closer, though it seems like it's a lot closer for those across the pond. Customers of British telcos Vodafone and Three can now reserve their very own HTC One X or One S. Both companies are now taking pre-orders for both phones, so whether you want the crazy-powerful One X or the svelte One S, you're covered. Three says that the HTC devices will be available next Wednesday, April 4th, but Vodafone is somewhat mum - we'd expect the phones to be available on both carriers at the same time.

Galaxy Nexus arrives in Germany and on Vodafone UK, Verizon twiddles its thumbs
Good news, folks: there's one more place you can get the Galaxy Nexus that isn't America. Engadget reports that retailers across Germany have jumped the gun and started selling the Galaxy Nexus early. Availability is still a little shaky - it looks like some outlets are offering the unlocked GSM version and some aren't, though Media Mart is reportedly a reliable place to find it.
