Motorola TRIUMPH Review [on Virgin Mobile]

Here's a Motorola candybar you're not going to want to miss. This is the first Motorola device to be carried by Virgin Mobile, and the biggest and by far the most impressive Android handset you're going to be able to purchase off-contract for under $300. Not only that, this device is unlike most Motorola devices in that it's not running Motorola Motoblur, a user interface that we've been told by many of our community members is certainly not their favorite. Instead you're going to get a Vanilla (aka essentially untouched) look at Android 2.2 FroYo. Is it a winner?

Virgin Mobile USA to start data throttling in October

If you are an Android fan that hates contracts and use pre-paid service on Virgin Mobile USA you need to be enjoying the last months of the all you can eat data buffet. The parent company of Virgin Mobile USA has announced that Virgin will start data throttling come October. Virgin notes that the move will only affect about 3% of its users.

Virgin Mobile Updates Beyond Talk Plans, Unlimited Everything for Only $55

Virgin Mobile is changing their Beyond Talk Plans as of late. One way to nudge subscribers into higher priced plans is to slightly raise the price of your main plans, but then lower the cost of the unlimited everything option. That is exactly what Virgin Mobile has just done, although some might not be happy that unlimited everything plan for only $55 sounds like a pretty great deal.

Virgin Mobile Launches FreeFest 2011 with Kyocera

Our good buddies over at Virgin Mobile have taken their love of music and mobile and smashed them up once again in the 2011 version of the award-winning festival known as FreeFest. This years music event will be sponsored by Kyocera and will feature a slew of amazing musical acts including The Black Keys, Deadmau5, Cee Lo Green, TV on the Radio, Patti Smith, Empire of the Sun, Cut Copy, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Okkervil River, Big Sean, Two Door Cinema Club, Alberta Cross, and Bombay Bicycle Club. AND incase you were wondering, yes, there is indeed a Kyocera manufactured Virgin Mobile carried phone out there, it's called the Kyocera Loft and we must admit, we've never even seen it in real life before, not once.

Samsung Galaxy S II Launching on Virgin Mobile July 14th up in Canada

I hope you didn't read half of the title and get excited only to see Canada at the end, but that is exactly what we have here. Exciting news for you Canadian readers while the rest of us here in the U.S. wait patiently for this amazing superphone to hit the streets. In just 13 days Virgin Mobile (Canada) will be launching the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G and everyone can run in and get their own if they are fast enough.

Motorola Triumph on Virgin Mobile Set to Release July 19th

Hey all you fans of Virgin out there, it's your time! It's time you got an Android phone that competes with the best of em - and does it with a nearly vanilla flavoring to boot! This is the Motorola Triumph, a device which we got to peek at a short while ago and one we're rather pumped up about on account of its uniqueness. Though it is still rolling out with Android 2.2 Froyo when even the mid-range competitors are blasting through the gates with Gingerbread, don't count the Triumph out - not by a long shot - and get pumped up because it's coming in July!

Virgin Mobile Says They Don’t Want Users Rooting

They lure us in with their promises of stock Android goodness, only to crush our souls. I, along with Android lovers the internet wide, applauded Virgin Mobile's comments last week that it wanted to sell Android devices free from UI skins exclusively. Today, Virgin just lost all that love and then some. In a statement that may has well have been "Android hackers need not buy," Virgin says they are whole-heartedly against rooting, and that it violates their terms of services.

Virgin Mobile Wants to Sell Virgin Android

And by virgin we mean untouched by hardware manufacturers! A spokesperson for Virgin Mobile has declared their commitment to the freedom that Android users love oh so much, through the selling of stock Android devices. While some legitimately enjoy the added features of skins like Sense and TouchWiz, many of us will tell you our favorite flavor of Android is vanilla.
