Samsung Galaxy S II Launching on Virgin Mobile July 14th up in Canada

I hope you didn't read half of the title and get excited only to see Canada at the end, but that is exactly what we have here. Exciting news for you Canadian readers while the rest of us here in the U.S. wait patiently for this amazing superphone to hit the streets. In just 13 days Virgin Mobile (Canada) will be launching the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G and everyone can run in and get their own if they are fast enough.

Motorola Triumph on Virgin Mobile Set to Release July 19th

Hey all you fans of Virgin out there, it's your time! It's time you got an Android phone that competes with the best of em - and does it with a nearly vanilla flavoring to boot! This is the Motorola Triumph, a device which we got to peek at a short while ago and one we're rather pumped up about on account of its uniqueness. Though it is still rolling out with Android 2.2 Froyo when even the mid-range competitors are blasting through the gates with Gingerbread, don't count the Triumph out - not by a long shot - and get pumped up because it's coming in July!

Virgin Mobile Says They Don’t Want Users Rooting

They lure us in with their promises of stock Android goodness, only to crush our souls. I, along with Android lovers the internet wide, applauded Virgin Mobile's comments last week that it wanted to sell Android devices free from UI skins exclusively. Today, Virgin just lost all that love and then some. In a statement that may has well have been "Android hackers need not buy," Virgin says they are whole-heartedly against rooting, and that it violates their terms of services.

Virgin Mobile Wants to Sell Virgin Android

And by virgin we mean untouched by hardware manufacturers! A spokesperson for Virgin Mobile has declared their commitment to the freedom that Android users love oh so much, through the selling of stock Android devices. While some legitimately enjoy the added features of skins like Sense and TouchWiz, many of us will tell you our favorite flavor of Android is vanilla.

Motorola TRIUMPH Hands-On – for Virgin Mobile this Summer, runs stock Android

At their big event in NYC today, Motorola announced a slew of devices and one in particular is the Motorola Triumph coming to Virgin Mobile this summer. This is the first Motorola device offered by Virgin Mobile and they look to be pushing for more high end phones on their pre-paid network with the launch of this phone. Did I mention it runs stock Android 2.2 Froyo with no Moto Blur.

Motorola TRIUMPH Announced

What lies beneath is the first really fantastic Android device offered by Motorola for Virgin Mobile. In fact it's the first Motorola device EVER offered on the carrier, so your ears should be perking up if you're a fan of the big white-teeth grin, if you know what I mean. Virgin Mobile is known for its flexibility, and the TRIUMPH is no exception, coming in on a no contract plan. The specs on this device certainly don't win it any big favors for those looking for the race-winners, but there certainly are some surprises waiting for you inside.

LG Optimus V Review [On the Go Android!]

Before we begin, let me direct you back to a review I conducted some months ago on a very similar telephone by the name of LG Optimus U. This is essentially the same piece of hardware with a slightly different set of apps, costing a different price and having a different carrier. Comparing the two would be an exercise in futility because this isn't the sort of phone you decide on first, then figure out what carrier you want later. This is the kind of phone you find while you're shopping for a new phone on a carrier you trust. Who would buy such a phone? What uses are there for such a phone as this? Would I use this phone? Let's talk.

Samsung Intercept Nabs Froyo Starting Today

We're getting reports from owners of Virgin Mobile's lovely Samsung Intercept that they're being bumped up to Android 2.2 Froyo today, finally, oh joyous day! This update, like most upgrades to newer Android versions, comes after months of speculation. The first date was December 17th of last year, then it was "sometime this spring," and now it's today. Today, today, callooh, callay!
