Verizon Wireless is just about ready to begin rolling out the Moto X software update. This is the one often referred to as the camera update, though there are quite a few other items listed in the changelog -- including a Google Drive promotion. Anyway, at this time Verizon has yet to publicly post the changelog, but we can say the update will be arriving as software version 139.15.1.
Verizon activated a whopping 927,000 postpaid mobile devices in Q3 2013, it was off from the expectations of some analysts. It fell just shy of the 940,000 predicted by some, and a distant cry from the 1.047 billion others expected to see. Overall, Verizon is on track, but what’s with the mobile activation dip?
Verizon announced their earnings for Q3 2013 today, and they've impressed once again. Continuing to steamroll the industry, Verizon reports over one million new wireless connections, and reports their LTE service is now carrying 34% of their network activity.
LTE service into the AWS it purchased last year. The acquisition, which cost Verizon $3.9 billion, is for the 700MHz Block C spectrum, which covers more than 300 million PoPs. Oddly enough, this is the same spectrum T-Mobile uses for their limited LTE coverage.

Some carriers charge $15/month or more for tethering, which is a bit pricey -- especially if you just need to do it intermittently. Verizon Wireless has unveiled a same-day delivery service. This new service is launching in pilot mode and for just one market -- Philadelphia. That being said, it does appear as if Verizon already has plans to expand the reach to other big cities. For now though, Big Red has offered some details on how the program works and what it will cost.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear is well underway. The handset has been rolling out to various carriers with Verizon Wireless customers getting access to make a purchase as of late last week. Big Red had pre-orders open, however the general availability kicked off on October 10th. As such, we have recently been carrying a Verizon branded Galaxy Note 3 for testing.
