NYC adds cell and WiFi service to 36 more Subway stations

In an effort to have all Subway stations completely wired by 2016, the MTA has announced that around 36 stations are getting smartphone cell service and WiFi access in New York City. More than 8.5 million daily subway riders will be happy to learn that they'll have complete wireless service deep underground at more than 30 new locations. Time to check Twitter and Facebook on the Subway.

HTC Rezound getting OTA update – still no Jelly Bean

Owners of the popular HTC Rezound over on Verizon Wireless should be on the lookout for an update coming soon. The Rezound received a small update back in February that was titled as a "device enhancement" update, and today we're getting another. Only we still won't be running Android 4.1 (or 4.2) Jelly Bean on the handset. More details below.

Verizon Wireless begins accepting GALAXY S 4 pre-orders

As we were expecting to happen, Verizon Wireless has officially opened pre-orders for the GALAXY S 4 today. The pre-orders are available for the 16GB model in black or white, which according to details coming from the carrier, will ship by the end of May. Specifically, Verizon is saying the GALAXY S 4 pre-orders will ship by May 30.

While we have yet to see some of the specifics from Verizon Wireless, we now know they will have GALAXY S 4 pre-orders available as of tomorrow. The details have arrived by way of their official @VZnews Twitter account, however despite being able to move forward with a pre-order on April 25 -- we are still yet to see an official release date.

LG Spectrum 2 set to receive Jelly Bean update soon

Today the folks from Verizon have just confirmed another one of their budget smartphones is set to receive an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The LG Spectrum 2, which was released back in October, was just approved for the OTA update. We can expect this little mid-range phone to see it arrive shortly from Verizon and LG.

Verizon Wireless begins pushing latest Samsung Stratosphere update

Verizon Wireless has detailed and begun pushing the latest software update for the Samsung Stratosphere. Those with a Stratosphere can expect an update that brings a handful of what Verizon describes as "device enhancements." This is one that will have Stratosphere users sticking with their current version of Android, but hopefully with a few less issues than before.

Verizon GALAXY S 4 up for pre-order from Best Buy

Are you excited and patiently awaiting the Samsung GALAXY S 4 to arrive on Verizon Wireless? Well we have good news. Verizon is the only big carrier that still hasn't released any sort of details or a full release date, but Best Buy has stepped in to fill the void for you eager fans. They just confirmed they'll be taking pre-orders for the Verizon model, even though we don't know when it will be available.

Verizon voice-over LTE support coming next year

Previous reports pegged voice-over LTE support as coming to Verizon Wireless in 2013, however based on new details it is now looking as if that support will not be arriving until next year. These latest details come by way of Verizon CFO Fran Shammo who said the voice-over LTE support would be launching commercially in "early next year."

Verizon Wireless details upcoming Pantech Perception release

Coming off some recent rumors and FCC sightings, the Pantech Perception has officially been announced by Verizon Wireless. The handset will be a global ready device and is launching with a feature called Motion Sense, which will let you control certain aspects of your phone with the wave of your hand. Verizon Wireless device payment plan explained

Verizon Wireless had already confirmed that a device payment plan was coming available. The one part that we didn't see with the previous confirmation though, was any specifics. Basically, Verizon had said a payment plan was coming and that was about it.
