Verizon Moto X root access proven possible

The Moto X is available with a wide variety of US carriers at this point, however your ability to tinker with the phone will vary depending on which carrier you have. Motorola does offer an option to unlock the bootloader, however that option is not available for those with AT&T and Verizon Wireless. But official paths aside, it looks like someone has managed to get past some of the blocks and has achieved root access on the Verizon Moto X.

LG G2 launch details confirmed by Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless has confirmed the release details for the LG G2 smartphone. Verizon has said the handset would be available beginning on September 12th and that it will be selling for $199.99 on a two-year agreement. As a comparison, T-Mobile will have the LG G2 available beginning on September 18th.

Verizon Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear pre-orders confirmed for Friday

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note III and Galaxy Gear yesterday and while we have already begun seeing confirmation coming from the US carriers, it looks like Verizon is first out with a date. Coming by way of the recently updated teaser page, Big Red will have the phablet and smartwatch available for pre-order beginning at 9AM EST on September 6th. So far Verizon has yet to offer anything in terms of a price or actual release date.

Verizon drops Canadian expansion plans

Recent chatter had it looking like Verizon was moving forward with plans to expand into Canada. But while that may have been the case last week, it seems that is no longer the plan. The details come by way of Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam who has said rather clearly that "Verizon is not going to Canada."

Kyocera Hydro Elite coming to Verizon Wireless

The Kyocera Hydro Elite had been rumored as heading to Verizon Wireless and as of today it has been officially announced. Big Red will have this handset available as of August 29th and they seem to really be pushing the waterproof aspect. Thankfully though, there is a bit more to the Hydro Elite than just being water-friendly.

Verizon Edge goes live with detailed FAQ to clear any confusion

Verizon announced the Edge upgrade program back in July and it looks like it has officially arrived. A quick visit to the Verizon Wireless website shows the handsets being listed with the additional pricing. Basically, those browsing will now see a two-year agreement price, full-retail price and the Edge pricing. Perhaps more important though, Verizon has also offered an FAQ answering quite a few questions.
