Verizon Wireless: 4G LTE usage now accounts for nearly 50% of data traffic
Verizon Wireless recently offered some details in terms of where their 4G LTE stands. For example, they noted that the network now covers 473 markets which means it is available for a potential 273.5 million people. They also mentioned that the 4G LTE network is now available for "close to 89 percent" of the US footprint.

Smartphones still aren't most the power efficient of gadgets, and LTE radios gobble up battery power even faster. Though the Verizon LTE Galaxy Nexus already features a larger battery than its HSPA+ brother, no doubt a few of you will already have your new phones begging for more juice long before the day's over. Enter Samsung's extended battery, which give the Galaxy Nexus a slightly extended 2100mAh of power. That's an increase of 250mAh - not a gigantic addition, but it's also not going to give your new phone a tumor on its back.

ZTE pushes for the high end, starts with 7-inch V66 Verizon LTE tablet
At the moment, ZTE is one in a field of Chinese hardware makers that do well enough on low and mid-range devices here in the US. Like Huawei, the company hopes to change that in the upcoming year, and it looks like their first attempt will be with Verizon. The G-men at the FCC have got their hands on said device, and it looks promising.
