Verizon 4G LTE keeps rolling, more markets announced for December 15th

It's no surprise that Verizon is pushing full steam ahead with their 4G LTE network, they've been updating with 10-15 new markets and locations almost every few weeks for months on end. Late last month they flipped the big red switch on 22 new markets and another list will be activated on November 17th, today they've just announced another round of upgrades coming in mid December.

The new Motorola Xoom 2's have been getting plenty of love lately but we still don't have anything too concrete regarding these tablets other than the few and far between leaked details. When Verizon announced their new 4G LTE network they had a few goals set in terms of the rollout, and how many customers would be able to take advantage of the new network. Today Verizon has announced that the original goal of 185 million customers has already been reached and that they are ahead of schedule, not to mention that they've also already reached their goal for the amount of markets that actually have 4G LTE.

Verizon sends free dock back with delayed XOOM LTE upgrades

OK, so that one-week turnaround for the Motorola XOOM 4G upgrade was a little optimistic... at least as optimistic as the idea that the upgrade itself would come in the spring of this year. Customers who sent their tablets in to Verizon are seeing significant slowdowns in getting their LTE hardware back into their hands. But the company sends along an extra goody by way of an apology: a free XOOM desktop dock.

Verizon expands “C.O.W.” making 4G LTE network portable

Verizon Wireless today has proudly announced that they soon will be driving around cows. Actually today they delivered the company’s first 4G LTE C.O.W. (Cell On Wheels) in Florida to bring the joy of reinforced high-speed wireless capabilities to its customers. What we have here is a new system kicking off in Florida where major sporting or media events, tourist destinations, and other heavily populated areas will get extra support to the 4G LTE network when needed. This is a great system for natural disasters and hurricanes when most service eventually goes down.

Motorola XOOM 2 in 8″ & 10″ Sizes Unveiled

Finally leaked are some amazing spy-shots of the Motorola's two new tablets projected for this holiday season. The XOOM 2 will debut in 8" and 10" models, and both sporting Verizon's lightning fast 4G LTE. And recently, if a device doesn't support 4G - then it can no longer compete with those that do.
