HTC Thunderbolt on sale for $99 at Verizon for Valued Customers

From what we are seeing from our friends over at Droid-Life the HTC Thunderbolt and a few other phones at Verizon Wireless are on sale now until June 12th. It looks like Verizon is holding a private sale on many devices for what they are calling "Loyal Customers". This may mean long time subscribers, or multi-line customers but apparently certain people have received emails and texts regarding this sale.

LG Revolution May 26 Launch with Netflix, Froyo, and LTE

Have a peek at this, one official looking two-sided sheet showing off basically everything you could possibly want to know about the brand new LG Revolution. This device will launch on the 26th of May right next to both the DROIDX2 and the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY - which one will you choose? We're hoping to catch em all. This device will be only the third Android device to work with Verizon's 4G LTE network and the first selection from LG. And it's in all black instead of the silver we saw back at CES.

DROID Charge Anomaly Tracked in Five Cities and Counting [Video]

If you've been following @DroidLanding on Twitter, you know that there's a contest going on where you are able to win a DROID Charge by tracking down a hidden marker in cities across the United States. What's been released tonight is several videos documenting the winners in five cities including my place of residence, Minneapolis Minnesota, the prize found in no less than the famous First Avenue Danceteria, downtown MPLS - usually there's a few hundred hipsters chopping it up on the floor - just Verizon during the day apparently!

DROID Charge Review

Welcome to a phone that's set to go in direct competition with the HTC ThunderBolt. There's no getting around the fact that this phone is set to throw some punches as the second phone on the market to be running on Verizon's 4G LTE network for ultimate superfly data speeds, so we've just got to take a look! This phone has a 1.0Ghz single-core Hummingbird processor, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, and Samsung's TouchWiz 3.0 user interface lying over a Google certified Android 2.2 Froyo mobile OS. Is it enough to take a swipe at the market at $299.99 with a new two-year contract with Verizon, data+talk monthly bills starting at around $70 a month? We shall see!

Verizon’s 4G LTE Network Down Nationwide

Verizon's 4G LTE Network is down nationwide, forcing those with an HTC Thunderbolt or a 4G hotspot to suffer along with near dial-up speeds. According to Verizon's twitter feed, the Thunderbolt is able to do voice calls, but data is running at 1xRTT data. The outage comes just one day before the DROID Charge, Verizon's second 4G phone, hits the network. Verizon has said they are hard at work to fix the problem. Verizon's 4G network went down late last night, and though it doesn't affect 3G devices, the Thunderbolt has been booted down to extremely slow speeds. There is a fix, however, that will allow the Thunderbolt to get back up to 3G at least.

DROID Charge unboxing and hands-on at SlashGear

Vincent Nguyen over at SlashGear has just posted a hands-on and unboxing of the DROID Charge. Yes, the DROID Charge with the 4.3-inch WVGA Super AMOLED Plus display. Vince let us know that he almost cried when he saw the display. Actually, his exact words were that he wanted to "weep like a little boy on Christmas morning," because the display was so amazing. Chris Burns will be posting his own hands-on of the Charge here on Android Community tomorrow, but in the meantime, check out Vincent's take. Also look for my hands-on of the Incredible S right here tomorrow. Keep reading for some quick details about the DROID Charge.

Skype Video for Android ready & waiting on Verizon

Word on the street is that Skype has finished testing it's Video feature on Android handsets and is waiting for Verizon to distribute. The news came from a support reply to a query by Android user "Dmitri." The issue is that Verizon controls updating of Skype to phones on their network and as such, users have to had to wait patiently for it. Skype has a partnership with Verizon, so it makes sense that they wouldn't release it without Verizon's "check."
