Verizon GALAXY S 4 will be first with Advance Wireless Service support
The GALAXY S 4 recently launched with Verizon Wireless and while the handset brings LTE support out of the box, it is looking like a future update will bring additional speeds. We are talking about support for Advanced Wireless Service (AWS) which will arrive as an upgrade to the Verizon network. AWS, according to reports, should more than double the current available speeds.

Verizon 4G LTE approaching 500 markets milestone
Today the team over at Verizon Wireless are back sharing more details about their exhaustive and competitive 4G LTE network rollout. Confirming that after a few new markets have launched with LTE today, their numbers have reached an all-time high and they are approaching another milestone. As of today Verizon 4G LTE is available in 497 markets across the US.

Verizon Wireless: 4G LTE usage now accounts for nearly 50% of data traffic
Verizon Wireless recently offered some details in terms of where their 4G LTE stands. For example, they noted that the network now covers 473 markets which means it is available for a potential 273.5 million people. They also mentioned that the 4G LTE network is now available for "close to 89 percent" of the US footprint.

We have seen plenty in terms of Verizon Wireless 4G LTE coverage in 2012. We have seen reports about the roll-out and the progress that was being made. It was back in early November when they announced that they expected to have the 4G LTE network roll-out completed by the middle of 2013. Today we heard some interesting news from the guys at Verizon Wireless. While network news and conference calls aren't always that exciting, Verizon CFO Fran Shammo had a few comments regarding their ever expanding 4G LTE network. Today Verizon stated they expect their entire network to be fully 4G LTE compatible by mid 2013 -- 6 months sooner than originally planned.

We have some excellent yet terrible news this afternoon regarding the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II. For one, it's indeed coming soon, possibly with pre-orders starting tonight according to rumors. Then the bad news. The Verizon Galaxy Note II will be plastered with Verizon and 4G LTE logos. Verizon's logo will be on back as usual, then front and center right on the dedicated home button.

LTE in the US costs 10 times more than Sweden
Everyone knows that getting data on a cell phone is expensive. Those hefty cell phone bills build up quickly, and our data plans are a huge part of the large cost. If you consider overage fees for going over your data allotment, the cost can become downright obscene. If you think 4G LTE is expensive, well, you're right, but you will think it's much worse when you realize how much more the US pays for data than other parts of the world.
