US Cellular reported to offer more data, new introductory plan

With T-Mobile and AT&T making changes to their plan allotments the past week, more carriers were expected to follow suit in some fashion. US Cellular may be accepting the challenge of offering more for less, and is rumored to announce changes to their plans, effective March 13. Bringing more data to new and existing customers, US Cellular may give some a compelling reason to jump ship.

T-Mobile Moto X users began seeing the Android 4.4.2 update last week, and now it looks like the update is underway with a second carrier. The lucky group are US Cellular users, who will be seeing a similar update. US Cellular users will want to be on the lookout for an update notification, but in the meantime, what follows is what can be expected in terms of the update.

US Cellular unveils new, lower-priced no-contract plan

US Cellular has rolled out a new, lower-priced no-contract plan option. This one sits priced at $50 per month and includes unlimited talk, text and data. Of course, as we often see with the mention of unlimited -- there is some fine print you will want to know up front. In this case, the data is unlimited, but only some of that will be at high-speed.

US Cellular Moto X Android 4.4 Kit Kat update expected today

We have yet to see the official word come from Motorola, however sources are suggesting US Cellular Moto X users will have an update coming today. And just to clarify, this is the Android 4.4 Kit Kat update. Assuming the update rolls out as expected, that means US Cellular users would join a group that also includes AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless. But again, this all goes back to an earlier promise from Motorola about how Kit Kat would arrive for all Moto X users within the next few weeks.
