I have one word for this and that is: Awesome! If you remember, Google released similar videos for both the Google Nexus One and the Samsung Nexus S (both linked to below) and my personal favorite was the Nexus S. This new Ninja Unboxing part 3 might just take the cake — until part 4 of course. In the past they used stop motion animation for these awesome videos but this brings things to an entirely new level. Play the Galaxy Nexus video game today!

Yesterday Google teased everyone that something was coming for Android fans today and while many were starting to speculate on an update for the Nexus One to Ice Cream Sandwich (dreaming) or maybe some sort of Nexus Tablet instead we have this video/game. While it’s nothing major I’m still quite excited and after I finish sharing the news with all my fellow followers and readers I’ll be sure to get back into my ninja suit and beat the game myself.

Yes, the unboxing turns into an 8bit Atari-style video game that is completely awesome. Basically you need to head down to YouTube immediately and play it by clicking here. Make sure to come back to Android Community though and see all of our coverage of the Galaxy Nexus and past unboxing videos from the timeline neatly laid out below.

Enjoy Ninjas!

Update: The Nexus Ninja Unboxing game is also available from the Android Market by clicking here.

We’ve had a great week of tech reviews, hands-on/unboxings, and development for this first week of November! First, we started off our work week with an excellent review of the Motorola ATRIX 2 by Michael Crider. An unboxing of the HTC Rezound was then performed by Cory Gunther soon after. After seeing ads of the HTC Rezound show up in Verizon Wireless stores, you can be sure to see this device soon. It was officially announced to the public Thursday, and around the same time we released our own hands-on round-up.

So many devices are about to hit Verizon before the holidays, with the DROID RAZR being no exception. We were almost posititive it would hit November 10th, but after an official DROID RAZR commercial – you can expect to see it this November 11, 2011 at 11:11am; is this device #1 or what? The new RAZR has already gone live on Droid Does and DroidLanding webpages – so get ready to hunt for your chance to win a free one! Many presumed development wouldn’t occur on the RAZR due to a non-removable battery and locked bootloader, yet alas: we have root!

Many other smartphones were reviewed this week, including the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Ray, Samsung GALAXY Note (via SlashGear), Samsung GALAXY Player 5.0, and we even got around to unboxing AT&T’s HTC Vivid and Samsung GALAXY S II Skyrocket. Both the Vivid and Skyrocket are AT&T’s first smartphones to take advantage of their true 4G LTE network, so stay tuned in the week to come for their more in-depth reviews. Their 4G LTE coverage is very limited, but we’ll try our best to put it to the test.

The original Samsung GALAXY S received a taste of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) early on from an SDK port by two XDA-Developers. Not much works at the moment, but seriously – Ice Cream Sandwich was just released! I expect a fully functional port in due time. The LG Optimus series and LG Revolution 4G should have had OTA updates of 2.3 (Gingerbread) pushed to their devices starting November 1st; if not, go to Menu > Settings > About Phone > Software Update to grab it. Also, expect a future update to Ice Cream Sandwich for the HTC Rezound, HTC Vivid, and Samsung Skyrocket. Though we assumed these recently devices would receive Android 4.0, it’s always comforting to know the plan is “officially” on the way.

Wrapping up here, make sure that you take advantage of nabbing a free HTC phone when purchasing Modern Warfare 3 at Best Buy for a limited time!

Everyone say hello to the big boy on the block, the T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy S II. With its awesome 4.52″ AMOLED display, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor it surely will rule the T-Mobile streets for a few weeks. This being the third Galaxy S II available in the US — first being the Epic 4G Touch, second being the AT&T Galaxy S II I’m excited to show everyone this top contender for Galaxy S II supremacy so check out our unboxing video and pictures below.

First things first, the Galaxy S II from T-Mobile has a few things that make it stand out from the pack. It features the fastest processor of all the SGSII’s available and is rocking a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm dual-core processor while the others all have 1.2 GHz Samsung Exynos chips — why T-Mobile and Samsung chose this route we aren’t sure. I doubt anyone will complain about the faster processor though right? Next up, unlike the AT&T version, the T-Mobile model (codenamed Hercules) packs a 4.52″ AMOLED display instead of 4.3″ like the others. What we have is one of the biggest, fastest, and thinnest smartphones on the planet all neatly wrapped in one lightweight package. All powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread and T-Mobiles newest 4G network — that being HSPA+ 42.

I wont get into all the dirty details yet because the Galaxy S II wont be available from T-Mobile until October 12th. Don’t worry though, I’ll have a full out review with all my thoughts and details and as many photos as you’d like in said review before the official launch date. As always you can expect a wide array of benchmarks and us testing the new HSPA+ speeds with speedtest when the time comes, so stay tuned. Below you’ll find our video and a few photos that should hold you over for now.

In order from left to right we have the T-Mobile Galaxy S II, the Epic 4G Touch with WiMAX, then the AT&T Galaxy S II on the right with the smaller display

Just for fun we’ve also took a few quick Quadrant benchmarks as I know everyone would love to see a few before our full review. The Samsung Galaxy S II from T-Mobile scored an impressive 3819 completely stock out of the box. The 1.5 GHz processor seems to do well here, but not only that, it is Samsung’s simple tweaks and EXT4 that gives them the edge. The Amaze 4G with the same Qualcomm 1.5 GHz dual core only scored 2900, probably because of the changes from HTC and Sense UI.

In the mail today we’ve received a lovely surprise, no less than the AT&T version of the Samsung Galaxy S II. What we’ve got for you below is a full hands-on rundown of the features you’ll be working with here on the AT&T iteration of this device specifically along with a brief review of what this device will contain in our full review. Remember that this is not the first time the Galaxy S II has been released here in the states, but it is the closest we’ve gotten to the original version yet – more on that in the deep! AT&T, are you the best carrier of this device yet?

What this AT&T version has that the Epic 4G Touch does not is a whole tiny handful of things, most of them carrier-specific apps. The most obvious point of difference you’ll notice right away though is the size of the display. While the Epic 4G Touch has an enlarged 4.5-inch display, the AT&T Galaxy S II has the same 4.32-inch display that the original (international) version of the device. Of course there are quite a few differences between the original and any of the USA versions of this device, apps and the giant joystick on the original being the most obvious.

The good thing we can rely on here is the original Samsung Exynos dual-core processor clocked in at 1.2 GHz. This is one of the most powerful dual-core processors on the market today and has beaten out several other dual-core processors in benchmark tests here on Android Community in the past. This device might be the last (of two) devices in the USA to carry this exact processor, the first one being the Epic 4G Touch. You can see in the video in this post that the device is made to fit nicely in the hand and hit the sweet spot for optimal everyday use as well as screen brightness and sharpness with its Super AMOLED Plus display.

We’re looking forward very much to taking this device through the obstacle course soon to give you a good idea what you’re looking at for the October release. My own first impression is that I’ll be using this version much more than I’ve used the Epic 4G Touch simply because the WiMAX (and the 3G, for that matter,) have been very unreliable thus far AND because this 4.32-inch display seems like, again, the sweet spot for optimal everyday use.

Check out the video and let us know what you need to know about this device so I can answer all your questions in the full review!

I’m going to pretend for a minute that you are all new and don’t know anything about the Bionic (although we all know everything already). The Droid Bionic is the new flagship Android smartphone coming from Verizon Wireless. This is their very first 4G LTE phone that also is powered by a dual-core processor — Both speed AND power!

We have a TI OMAP 1.0 Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, a brilliant, bright, and crisp 4.3″ qHD 540 x 960 high resolution display, Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, an 8 MP camera on the rear with dual LED flash, and a 2 MP lens on the front for quality video chat. The Bionic also comes out of the box with 32GB of storage, that is 16GB of internal storage as well as an included 16GB class 4 micro SD card. Along with micro HDMI-out for just about everything you’d ever need from mirror mode to game on your HDTV, to using the webdock accessories and more.

Enough of that, we already knew this phone was basically amazing, lets see the next video shall we.

I must mention that so far this phone is truly stellar. I know I use that word occasionally in my reviews but so far I’m actually really really impressed with the Droid Bionic. Using the latest Moto Blur UI on phones like the Droid X2 and others I was a bit worried but they’ve really stepped up their game. From extremely fast and stable performance with the dual-core, blazing quick network speeds with 4G LTE, and a much improved overall user interface this is Motorola’s best phone yet, it truly is pretty epic.

I don’t want to get into specifics too much as you’ll all need to wait for my full out in-depth review of the Bionic and all the accessories that is coming very soon but I do have some benchmarks and awesome speedtest results to show you all really fast.

DROID Bionic Speedtest and Benchmarks

First up we have 4G LTE speedtest results and lets just say Verizon is well ahead of the pack. My 4G LTE results were amazing inside, outside, and even while driving home (yes I couldn’t wait and opened it asap). I’m getting an average of around 9 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload speeds consistently, with performance peaking over 11 Mbps down and 3.5 Mbps up. Basically that compares to and beats many peoples home internet connection. Say hello to true 4G LTE guys.

I’ve ran multiple tests and I’m achieving these types of quick and impressive speeds consistently as you can clearly see in the image below.

Next up I also took a quick run or two of Quadrant Pro since that is still everyone’s favorite benchmark application. It might be hard to see in the image but the Droid Bionic scores well over 2600 out of the box, completely stock. My HTC Sensation 4G with a faster 1.2 Ghz dual-core only scores around 2100-2200 stock. That makes the Droid Bionic only second to the Samsung Galaxy S II with out of the box performance.

While you can expect more benchmarks in my full review coming soon I’ve also snapped a few photos running CF Bench too. Again coming in second only to the SGSII.

I don’t want to give away all the details and everything on the first date, we still have plenty more benchmarks, videos, photos and more coming soon. For now this was just a quick rundown for all you readers that have been patiently waiting for this phone to finally arrive. I’ve added a few more photos in the full size gallery below so be sure to check all of those out for a better view.

I’d like to take this moment to mention that if anyone would like us to try anything specific, or you have a request of something you’d like to see in the full review please share your questions, thoughts and more in the comment section below and I’ll be sure to do what I can. Feel free to check back all week long as we review everything shown in the videos above. Who is getting a DROID Bionic?

Enjoy!

Recently I had the pleasure to get some hands-on with the new HTC Sensation 4G coming to T-Mobile. We have already done a full review of the Sensation by our good man Chris Burns here. I’m sure another look and some additional views and input regarding the phone would be nice to hear, especially for any of you that are debating on if this will be your next device or not. Let me help you decide, so far I love it.

Since we already reviewed this phone this is more of an unboxing as well as some more initial thoughts and impressions for all you readers. The phone started selling early at Walmart and was quickly shutdown, so for those still waiting it should be available to order in Walmart stores starting today June 12th, and at T-Mobile stores on the 15th. If you have not driven around town and found one already then this post should help you make up your mind if you should or not. I’ll have some up close pictures below as well as some thoughts and comparisons

To start things off right I’ll have to get right down to the hardware side of things. The Sensation 4G features the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2 Ghz dual-core processor, its the second dual-core device on T-Mobile with the first being the G2x with a Tegra 2 CPU, but this phone has the new Qualcomm chip and graphics. It also comes with a brilliant 4.3″ qHD display with a high resolution of 960×540, it has an 8 MP shooter on the rear and a front facing VGA for video chat, imbedded inside is 1GB of memory along with the optional MicroSD slot. This device can shoot full 1080p and the camera is amazing from my initial tests, it comes in with Android 2.3 but covered in the new HTC Sense UI 3.0 that brings a new unlock screen and other features.

I know a lot of reviews for many phones with the Sensation included have said that it feels really good in the hand, the reason they all say that is because it really is true. This device has one of the better in-hand feels compared to many I have tested in the past. I have the MyTouch 4G, the G2x, the Droid X2, the Revolution and a few others all on my desk and the Sensation 4G feels the best in my opinion. The hardware is what we have come to expect from HTC, it’s top notch and made to a higher standard than some phones. This is obviously user preference as some love the lightweight but almost cheap feeling of the Samsung Galaxy S line, and some will love the slightly heavier yet expensive and top quality feeling the Sensation 4G has. I personally really like the build quality, it just feels and seems well made in every aspect.

The high-res qHD display looks brilliant like I mentioned above, just being able to browse more on websites or see more in your twitter feed due to the higher resolution makes it super nice. There is much less scrolling on webpages as well as things like the settings tab on your phone all because there is just that much more content on the screen. While I’m talking about the display I did want to mention that using the device outside wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. Other screens like that on the LG G2x handles direct and indirect sunlight much better than the qHD display on the Sensation 4G but that is the only area where the LG display was better, every other aspect the Sensation is ahead in my book.

Without getting into things too deep as I plan to review the device much more over the coming days I’ll go ahead and post up the video as well as a few more photos for you all to enjoy. Overall the Sensation 4G feels blazing fast, the dual-core 1.2 Ghz processor speeds things right along. So far I’ve not experienced lag of any sort even while the market was restoring a huge list of applications. Sense 3.0 is a welcomed improvement to the Sense UI, the unlock screen is extremely convenient and makes those quick turn on just to text someone moments even easier. Check out the video and images below and before I leave, will you be buying the HTC Sensation 4G? Tell us below in the comments.

Our good friend Vincent Nguyen over at our sister site SlashGear has just received the All-New NOOK e-reader and has done a full hands-on and unboxing for us all to enjoy. The All-New NOOK replaces the originally NOOK that had a color LCD screen and the e-reader display both. This time around things are focused clearly on reading with the new E-Ink Pearl display that offers an 80% improvement in screen refresh rate.

With no color LCD screen or keyboard it certainly is compact, all while being a little lighter than the latest Kindle. It features a 6″ E-Ink touchscreen display, 800 Mhz processor, 238mb of available storage, as well as Wifi and a MicroSD slot. With it being a simple 6″ touchscreen it sure feels small, light, and having a soft touch coating and concave recess on the back to help your grip remain comfortable.

The new E-Ink Pearl Display is touch enabled using emitters down the edge of its sleek bezel. The only weakness of the display is still the refresh lag while the screen flickers to output new text, but this new model should be much faster than your previous e-reader. The page-turn strips down either side of the 6-inch display fall neatly under the fingertips for quick and easy turning the page without touching the screen, that is a nice touch.

We’ve just gotten the cool mid-range Android phone on AT&T by the name of Pantech Crossover in the house, and we’re unboxing the heck out of it. The Crossover is Pantech’s first Android effort in the USA and it’s running Android 2.2.1 Froyo with a 3.1-inch touch screen and slide-out QUERTY keyboard. It’s rough and tough, costs a total of $69.99 with a 2-year contract attached, and rolls out with a custom user interface that’s all Pantech’s own. Will it win over your new-to-smartphones friends and relatives to the Android side?

Right out of the box this device appears to be a much more unique piece of hardware than we’ve seen in the past for mid-ranged phones, the gray, black, and yellow accents on this Pantech device sure to win over those looking to run an Android device that’s not so candy-bar-ish. It’s got two physical buttons and two touchscreen buttons for the four standard Android set, plus a single Lock/PWR button and a single Function button, both of these sitting above the AT&T logo at the top of the device if you’re holding it portrait-wise. This Function button brings up a screen containing a set of apps that you yourself add for ease of access.

The slider is just the right amount of tough, the volume buttons are under the keyboard, and there’s a physical camera button aside a covered USB port behind the slider for, again, ease of use. The display is a 320 x 480 HBGA resolution and its overall size is 4.45-inches x 2.28-inches x .56-inches, and it’s light as a feather at 5.15-oz. The battery is a 1500 mAh which we expect to be lasting approximately forever, and onboard memory support 512 MHB while the microSD card slot supports up to 32GB (with a 2GB card already installed.)

Sound alright for a sub-$100 handset?

We’ll be reviewing this device in full over the next few days!

Our good pal Chris Davies has his hands on the brand new powerhouse in the HTC Sensation, that phone that for the longest time was codenamed “Pyramid” and is now HTC’s newest and most powerful effort. This device has a 4.3-inch display, runs a qHD 960 x 540 pixel resolution display, has a Qualcomm 1.2 GHz dual-core MSM8260 processor, and has a 3.0 version of HTC Sense, a lovely new version with an smart lock-screen and HTC Watch for downloads and video rentals. Behold HTC’s strongman in action!

Inside the box you’ll find the usual: USB AC adapter, USB to microUSB cable and a wired stereo headset with in-line controls. There’s no MHL-to-HDML adapter even though the plug you’ll find at the bottom of this device is definitely capable of making use of such an accessory – on the other hand, DLNA streaming support over WiFi b/g/n needs no such wire so you’ll be able to access that out of the box. Additional accessories for the future include a charging dock straight from HTC – even without this you’re allowed to boot directly into dock mode on the HTC Sensation, showing weather and Facebook updates on the fly, turning on mobile hotspot functionality at will.

You’ll notice the update to the chassis immediately upon viewing, with a giant swoop along the back and raised and toughened glass up front with a lip of plastic that accents the slightly rounder sides than every other 4.3-inch HTC phone before. This ain’t no ThunderBolt, if you know what I mean.

You’ll see instantly that this lip rim serves to add a tactile feeling whilst your thumb slips back and forth across the screen as well as serves as a means to keep your display screen off whatever surface you’ve placed your phone face-down onto. This same lip comes off with the entire back of the device when you want to access your battery and SIM and microSD slot for changing action.

Upon first glance it appears that Android and Sense are moving fabulously quickly on this new dual-core chip, any choppiness or jerkiness experienced when Davies first had his hands on this device are gone now in this store-ready version. Benchmarks in Quadrant Advanced racked up a lovely 2245 overall with 5918 in CPU. Certainly good for a start. Davies notes the following ominous warning: “let’s just say this: the Samsung Galaxy S II has got some serious competition.” We shall see!

The things we here at Android Community will do to get our hands on the latest gadgets! Samsung invited me to crank the traditional unboxing process up to 11 last week, taking to a 300bhp Subaru Impreza rally car to talk about the company’s new flagship Galaxy S II Android smartphone in the most unusual of situations.

So, last week I ended up at the Phil Price Rally School in mid-Wales, strapped into a four-point harness and clutching a boxed-up Galaxy S II. “Speak loud” they warned me, “else we won’t hear you over the engine” – I’m going to pretend that that’s the only reason I look so frantic in the final clip, desperately trying to make myself heard while covering a two or three miles of rally track in under two minutes.

In the end, I lost all the accessories – and most of the packaging – over my shoulder during the very first turn, but managed to just about keep a grip on the Galaxy S II itself. Whether anything I actually managed to scream at the camera is intelligible is, well, open to debate.

If you’re interested in picking up the Samsung Galaxy S II, it’ll go on sale from April 27. If you’d like to see a somewhat less dramatic hands-on with the smartphone, check out our coverage from last month!

One thing that all geeks have in common is that we are always dying to learn more details information on coming gadgets. This is the reason we sit in front of our computer starting at someone we don’t know unboxing the random gadget as soon as we can. We do our fare share of unboxing videos around there so we know exactly why you watch. The gang over at Wirefly has tossed up an unboxing video of a new smartphone from HTC that hasn’t been officially announced just yet.

The new smartphone is called the HTC Droid incredible 2. Not only did Wirefly unbox the smartphone, but they also offered up a video overview of what the phone has to offer. The Incredible 2 is the follow up to the original Incredible for the Verizon wireless network. The phone has a camera and dual LED flash on the back. The new Incredible 2 has a larger and wider screen. The original had a 3.7-inch screen and the new device has a 4-inch screen. The rear camera is 8MP and records 720p video. An 8GB microSD card is included

This is a global phone so you can travel and use different countries. It can be unlocked at Verizon to use international service via a SIM card. The device connects to the 3G EVDO network that is widespread around the country. The Incredible 2 comes with an international power adapter, charging cable, and a bunch of tips that will let you charge the smartphone wherever you end up. At one point you catch a glimpse of the boot screen and the screen says it has a Qualcomm MSM8655 processor at 1GHz, WVGA resolution screen, Android OS, and a few other tidbits.

The ASUS Transformer Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet is making a little splash at the moment, and with good reason. It is a beautiful Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet that doubles as a pretty nice 10″ laptop. Comes with basically the best mobile OS ever created, and it has a powerful dual-core CPU as we all know. Today we get a little unboxing video.

Most of you should already be up to speed on this device, if not here is our good friends at our sister site SlashGears Hands-On of the Transformer, showing you all the neat little tricks ASUS has thrown onto this device.

With that textured backing for a secure grip, the firm and solid build quality with that aluminum ring around the entire edge, this tablet aims to please, and so does Asus. I’ve read a few comments over at the XDA forums where people are mentioning the build quality is as good as, if not better than the Xoom and the iPad 2. That is always a good sign. With the keyboard accessory making this the portable mans dream come true, what are you waiting for? We are waiting for a U.S launch is what. For those that don’t want to wait to play with it at Best Buy, check out the unboxing video below. Enjoy!

We’ve been talking about this phone for months and months and yes, months, I kid you not. The Samsung Gem has news spanning back to August 4, 2010 and it’s got regular updates all the way up to the present where it’s available on U.S. Cellular for basically free ($29.99 after $80 mail-in rebate and 2-year contract.) At one point we saw it on Bluegrass, another time we had it coming out with Verizon, once it even cost $200! Crazy time! Now we’ve got it in our hands and it is truly, yes truly, a little gem.

First Impressions

This phone looks utterly unique. It features a large diamond-shaped home button on the front, an upside-down triangle for an ear-level speaker, and another diamond on the back to cover up the camera hole. The front also features several more physical buttons including call, hang up, menu, and back, and there’s everyone’s favorite on the right side – a physical camera button! It’s all plastic chassis, a tiny 3.2-inch screen above. Rounded on the top and bottom, flat along the sides and top, and a nice maroon/red battery cover back “with Google.”

This is going to be a hot contender for those looking to get into Android without a lot of initial cost and an ever-so-slightly unique looking handset. We’ve got a hunch that it’ll be lasting long with the 1500 mAh battery, it weighs essentially nothing, and the last time we were looking at a U.S. Cellular phone, the data did not drop once, not even in the deep woods of Northern Minnesota.

So we’ve got high hopes.

Samsung’s Galaxy S 4G isn’t exactly a great leap from the existing Galaxy S range. The company has taken the original Galaxy S and thrown in Android 2.2 Froyo from the outset, together with HSPA+ support for T-Mobile USA’s network. Still, with the Galaxy S family the best-selling Android devices around, there’s arguably little Samsung actually needed to do in order to refresh things prior to the Galaxy S II‘s arrival.

Our review unit has arrived, and we wasted no time in whipping it out on camera for some first impressions. It’s certainly derived from the T-Mobile Vibrant, with the same row of four touch-sensitive keys under the touchscreen and the same slender plastic chassis. Having used the Galaxy S II at MWC 2011 this week the 4-inch Super AMOLED doesn’t seem quite so luxurious, but it’s still impressively bright and clear.

What will make the biggest difference is the speed: both from the Froyo update, and the 4G upgrade. Android 2.2 is certainly speedier than its predecessor, though Samsung’s TouchWiz UI does muddy the experience somewhat; we still wish there was a way to turn the modifications off. We’ve also noticed a couple of inexplicable pauses in the system, as were present on the original Galaxy S family (and, indeed, on versions that have since seen updates to Froyo).

We’ll be putting the HSPA+ through its paces with some comprehensive speed tests ahead of the full Android Community review, so until then enjoy the hands-on gallery!

Oh joyous day we here at the R3 Network have gotten our hands on an ATRIX 4G from Motorola. This phone will soon be carried on AT&T, and due to its wild ability to dock with multiple devices, including a laptop dock we find to be particularly intriguing, we’re pretty pumped up to open the box. Take a step closer and have a peek at what’s inside the box, and stick around for some closeup shots of the loveliness. BONUS: we got some docks in the box.

The ATRIX 4G has a 4-inch display with more pixels per inch than most other Androids that’ve got the same sized screen – the screen here doesn’t quite match up to the iPhone 4′s 960 x 640 Retina Display, but it is a 960 x 540 qHD, making it quite the formidable foe in the screen department. When compared to the Nexus S, the ATRIX 4G moves more smoothly, and is just as or more visible outdoors.

The case covering the battery in back is a tough carbon-fiber style finished plastic to protect the hardware, and a cool combination power button and fingerprint scanner on the screen protecting the software. This scanner has worked for us just fine thus far, but there is a PIN lock as well should it malfunction. Also on the back is a 5-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, and on the front is a webcam that supports video calls via third-party apps like Fring or Skype.

Inside you’ll find a Tegra 2 processor from NVIDIA creating a speedy experience, though so far we’ve experienced five or six lockups due to large data loads. The operating system running on this device is Android 2.2.1 Froyo with a MOTOBLUR mask on top.

Motorola ATRIX 4G unboxing & hands-on:

Then there’s the ACCESSORIES which are almost more exciting than the phone. Amongst these are the laptop dock, desktop dock, and a mouse set and external keyboard. The laptop dock is what you saw in the original ATRIX 4G commercial that had (and now has) the phone plugged in the back, the entire bulk of the device sizing in at a slightly larger set of inches than an 11.6-inch ultraportable. The desktop dock includes HTMI, power and audio out, and three USB ports, as well as a multimedia remote. Imagine the fun you’ll have when you lie your hands on such a functional device.

The ATRIX 4G supports 1080p video playback and comes in the box with support for Citrix Receiver. Plug this little device in wherever you need a bit of video or a presentation slide, and bam, instant sell. This phone will be available for pre-ordering via AT&T starting on February 13th barring a natural disaster striking every AT&T location nation wide.

Wireless retailer Wirefly has unboxed a pre-production model of the Verizon HTC Thunderbolt and posted the video on Youtube. The phone comes in a mysterious black package that has all the traditional accouterments. And aside from some slightly comedic difficulty getting the phone out of the box, there’s some really interesting details.

The phone comes with a 32GB microSD card (amazing how huge those things are getting in capacity, isn’t it?), it has a 1Ghz processor, the same 4.3 inch touchscreen available on the HTC Evo, two cameras (forward facing 1.3mp for video chat and 8mp for HD video and still shots), a dual LED flash, and the cool “kick stand” made popular by the Evo. Currently, the Thunderbolt is being shipped with Android 2.2.1 (Froyo).

And in addition, there’s apparently word coming out that Verizon may be delaying release of the Thunderbolt to costumes from it’s debut on Valentine’s Day. In addition, Verizon may also be delaying roll out of it’s LTE mobile hotspot feature as well. There’s no ETA as to when the roll out of the Thunderbolt will occur, but it looks like Valentine’s Day is out. That’s a drag for those hoping to get it as a profession of love from that someone special.

This weekend a video was posted on YouTube that was an unboxing of the upcoming HTC ThunderBolt. The phone was unboxed and given a quick walk-thorugh but it’s obviously pre-release packaging.

If you are obsessing over the device, the video is definitely worth a view. The unboxer seems to know a whole lot about the device which would explain why he has his hands on a pre-release version of the device.

It’s worth noting that the device in the video does not have the final version of HTC Sense that it will be shipping with, but you can see that it’s definitely fast and everything is smooth.

Who is excited for the ThunderBolt?

Pre-order customers all over the world are waiting on their Adam tablets from Notion Ink, and the company is doing a little teasing with an official unboxing of the Android slate. You certainly get more than just Adam shoved inside a cardboard box; the packaging itself turns into a stand for using Adam on the desktop, such as when you’ve got a keyboard and mouse hooked up.

There’s also news that a software update will be ready and waiting for new owners to install, though we’re guessing it’s an Eden-related package rather than anything more significant with Android.

After much anticipation and press time, the HTC EVO Shift 4G has been announced to the masses at CES 2011. We have gotten our own review unit and have shots of the device as well as an unboxing after the break.

The HTC EVO 4G is being advertised as “not the next generation of EVO, but a 4G evolution for the masses.” Sprint expects this to be their device that will get 4G to more basic users all while bringing in the simplicity and elegance of an HTC device.

Being essentially a smaller, less powerful, EVO 4G with a keyboard, the device is initially proving to be very impressive. Even though it’s sporting a 800MHz chipset, the newly architectured chip provides EVO 4G like speed for the smaller device.

The Shift has a 3.6-inch screen which seems to be the perfect fit for the device. It’s running incredibly fast when connected to Sprint’s 4G network, and the whole OS seems to run with a fluidity that hasn’t been seen in phones of its price-range.

The phone has now been officially announced and will retail for $149.99 when its made available later this month.
