Sony Xperia P and Xperia U delayed to late May
The junior members of Sony's new smartphone triforce will have to wait a little longer to distinguish themselves from the top of the line Xperia S. According to UK online retailer Clove, both the Xperia P and the Xperia U have been pushed back to a May 28th release. Technically we can only deduce that the delay is true for the United Kingdom, but given Sony's general release habits this probably means it's true for greater Europe as well.

Unlocked Galaxy S II Ice Cream Sandwich update ready in the UK
Have you been watching while your pesky contracted United Kingdom fellows have waived their official Ice Cream Sandwich update in your face? Has your full-price, unlocked and SIM-free Galaxy S II been feeling left out of the Android 4.0 party? Then break out the USB cable and start up Kies, because today Samsung is officially sending out the ICS update via their desktop update software. Download Kies (if you haven't already) make sure your drivers are working properly, and click the "firmware upgrade" button.

Samsung to reveal “The Next Galaxy” on May 3
After months and months of speculation, to say nothing of a truly unprecedented amount of rumor and fakery, Samsung has finally set an announcement date for what will almost certainly be the Galaxy S III. The Samsung-only event will be held in London on Thursday, May 3rd, fulfilling their commitment to announce the Galaxy S II's successor outside of the usual trade show venues like Mobile World Congress. Naturally there's no other official details to be had at the moment, but the event is being christened "Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2012", setting up months before last year's October event.

HTC One V launching in late April on UK networks
The One X and One S get all the headlines, but let's not forget about the junior member of HTC's new family, the One V. The "budget" phone has yet to see a subsidized release alongside its more expensive brothers in the UK, but a new listing at Carphone Warehouse indicates that the One V will be available starting the week of April 23rd. The online retailer is selling the phone on-contract for O2, Vodafone and Orange, with on-contract tariffs starting as low as £20.50. At present there's no price for an unlocked phone, but elsewhere it's going for about £200 before taxes.

Huawei Ascend G300 coming to Vodafone for just £100
What can you get for a hundred quid? If you're a Vodafone customer or intend to switch, you can get a pretty respectable Gingerbread phone. The Huawei Ascend G300 will launch on the UK carrier on April 13th for £100, or starting at £15.50 a month when bought in conjunction with a data contract . While nowhere near as powerful as some of the latest high-end phones, it's got a set of features that puts it squarely in the mid-range for a price that was previously reserved for small and generally weak smartphones.

Love Motorola's design sense, but can't stand to have a phone that lasts less than three days on a single charge? Then the DROID RAZR MAXX is for you. Unless you're one of the 6 billion or so people outside of Verizon's US-only coverage area - then you'll have to wait for the international GSM version, the RAZR MAXX. Moto confirmed that the phone would be coming to Europe and the Middle East on Tuesday, and now UK retailer Clove has posted the pre-order page. Prepare to pay up if you want the extra longevity.

The HTC One X and One S are the hot topic in the Android world right now, and while UK citizens can stroll down to their local electronics store and pay full price for one as of today, those who want a cheaper contract option will have to wait. But not too long: T-Mobile's UK arm will begin selling both phones from its online and retails stores on Friday, April 5th. HTC's One series is inching closer, though it seems like it's a lot closer for those across the pond. Customers of British telcos Vodafone and Three can now reserve their very own HTC One X or One S. Both companies are now taking pre-orders for both phones, so whether you want the crazy-powerful One X or the svelte One S, you're covered. Three says that the HTC devices will be available next Wednesday, April 4th, but Vodafone is somewhat mum - we'd expect the phones to be available on both carriers at the same time.
