Ever been watching TV on your Samsung Galaxy S II and wish you could record it? TV Tuners inside Android smartphones are nothing new for the folks in Japan and some European countries, but is a new idea for us here in the States. A new patent has revealed that not only is Samsung looking to provide gestures and recording features for Android, but maybe even bring live TV to their US smartphones.

FilmOn AIR hopes to bring ATSC TV to your Android phone
Netflix is great. So is HBO Go. But sometimes you don't want HBO, you want TV. For that, IPTV startup FilmOn hopes to change the dynamic of mobile video by releasing a small and cheap tuner for its services, compatible with all major computing devices including Android. The company hopes that the FimOn AIR tuner will function as a work-around for its legal woes, as it battles the major television producers in the United States over rebroadcasting rights.

Dell is on a full on Android assault, they have many new devices in the pipeline. Seeing as how they entered the game late, they are positioning themselves to offer the most Android devices in the market. This tablet is similar to the Dell Mini 5, aka the Streak, it is a seven inch tablet. Rumors have this thing set for a November release.

People of Lava's Scandinavia Android TV is a 42-inch Full HD 1080p set with three HDMI ports, a DVB-T digital TV tuner and USB port. It also features an 833MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor and it run Android 1.5.

One of the largest Japanese telephone operators AU is teaming up with Sharp to bring two Android MID’s to the market. The two Android devices will be called the JN-DK01 and the IS01. The JN-DK01 is developer’s edition of the Iso1 which can be used to make alterations to the device and the OS.
