T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z hits shelves July 17th for $99

This afternoon was big for the folks over at T-Mobile. Not only did they announce their excellent new "Jump" plan with anytime device upgrades, but they've earned the exclusive rights to carry the impressive Sony Xperia Z smartphone in the USA. Waterproof and all. We're here live at the Tmo event, and they've just confirmed the Xperia Z will officially be available from T-Mobile on July 17th for only $99.

T-Mobile JUMP program arriving with two device upgrades per year

It was looking like T-Mobile was going to unveil their "anytime upgrade" club today and they have done just that. The catch here, this is actually called T-Mobile JUMP and the details are a bit different as compared to what we had been seeing in the rumors. That said, the details of the JUMP upgrade club have come by way of the T-Mobile event from where the carrier had promised to announce their "boldest moves yet."

T-Mobile acquires US Cellular AWS Spectrum to further expand LTE reach

T-Mobile is currently in the process of acquiring 10MHz of AWS (Advanced Wireless Services) spectrum from US Cellular. This is said to be a cash deal for $308 million and it will help T-Mobile further expand the reach of their 4G LTE network. This acquisition is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2013 and the spectrum covers some of the Mississippi Valley Region.

T-Mobile leak suggests a mid-July Sony Xperia Z launch

There has been plenty of chatter lately about the Sony Xperia Z coming to T-Mobile. The carrier has confirmed the handset is coming, however they have yet to offer much past that little bit. The confirmation came by way of a quietly launched coming soon page that appeared on the T-Mobile website earlier in the month. While the carrier has yet to offer a release date, a recent leak is suggesting that may be happening in mid-July.

Sony Xperia Z for T-Mobile gets official sign-up page

We can confirm once more that the folks from T-Mobile are slated to get the 5-inch 1080p and fully waterproof Sony Xperia Z smartphone soon. We've seen countless leaks, support documents on T-Mobile's site, and then last week they started teasing us with a device under water in a little teaser video. Today however, the official sign-up page has finally gone live.
