HTC Thunderbolt repeatedly dropping 4G, Verizon claims update is coming soon
Looks like there are a few weird things going on over at LTE world. Verizon Wireless and their exciting new LTE network seems to be having some issues, or is it only a firmware issue? That is what Verizon is claiming. Reading over the Verizon Wireless Community forum there is quite a large number of customers reporting 4G drops, like every few minutes or more.

HTC Thunderbolt cases streamline protection with extended battery
If you have an HTC Thunderbolt, you know how much of a bulge that extended battery makes in your pocket and how exposed the phone is without a protective case that can accomodate it. Now there's a nice silicone case available that streamlines the look of the phone to make it look far less like a camel hump. The cases were specifically designed with the extended battery in mind and also feature a slit for the Thunderbolt's kickstand, an opening for all necessary ports, and cameras. Unfortunately, though, the Extended Battery Fit Silicone cases are on back order.

Thunderbolt and Evo 4G Gingerbread update in late June

Both the HTC Thunderbolt and Evo 4G are scheduled to receive a Gingerbread update in late June, according to an email exchange with an HTC representative. The rep was responding to a frustrated customer who vented about the lack of the update in Verizon's premiere 4G handset. The irony is, that Gingerbread has been out for over 4 months and most wireless handsets haven't updated to it. It's a common issue as updates have to go to the manufacturer, then be approved by the provider, before going to an over the air update.

Asus Transformer Source code released already, shows HTC how it’s done
Whoa, what do we have here. It looks like Asus has already released the source code for the yet-to-be released Asus Transformer Tablet/Laptop. Check out the fancy Transformer in our very own Hands-On. Asus recently released a website all about the Transformer, and now things just got even better.

Motorola Droid X2 Pictures leak, looks the same
Uh Oh, looks like the guys over at Android Central have scored a few pictures of the upcoming yet-unannounced Motorola Droid X2. It looks basically the same as little brother, or big little brother I should say. Since they are both very similar and basically the same size. The original X has the wisdom because he is older and wiser, but the new Droid X2 has the heart, and that heart is the fast pumping Tegra 2 dual-core CPU inside. That is the tie breaker here.

HTC Thunderbolt blazes up past 2.0 Ghz
If you guys are wondering how fast the Thunderbolt is, you haven't seen the HTC Thunderbolt Rooftop Lightning Commercial yet. That should say it all, but if it doesn't then check out this story about the Thunderbolt being overclocked to 1.8 Ghz and tearing up benchmarks. It looks like today it got even more speed.

HTC ThunderBolt Annihilates Masses of Quadrant Competitors, Overclocks to 1.8Ghz with “unboLTEd 0.2″

HTC ThunderBolt Annihilates Masses of Quadrant Competitors, Overclocks to 1.8Ghz with “unboLTEd 0.2″
Before we begin, there's two important things to note: one, that we don't know Derek Rodriquez well enough to know for sure if these scores are real or accurate, but it appears that with his kernel "unboLTEd 0.2," incredible speeds and scores have been achieved. Overlocking to 1.8GHz is no small feat one a single-core machine, neither is achieving a score of 2772 in Quadrant benchmarking - but is it real? We can certainly cross our fingers and hope for the best!

HTC Thunderbolt getting Gingerbread by Summer
A frustrated HTC Thunderbolt customer trying to troubleshoot an compatibility issue with Bluetooth nearly forgot all his troubles this week. In an email reply, HTC reps responded that the Thunderbolt will be getting an update in the second quarter of the 2011 that while not addressing the Bluetooth issue, will bring Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) to the 4G handset. Of course, that's HTCs time table. It will also have to clear Verizon before a roll out will commence, but the list of improvements look to really boost what is already a killer Android handset.

HTC EVO 3D design prevents kickstand, but we have you covered
If you are like us and saw the unveiling and showcase of the amazing looking HTC EVO 3D this week you are probably as excited as us about this device. A beast by any measure coming to Sprint soon. The link above mentions all the specs so I'll spare all of that other than mentioning that it will probably sell as many or more than it's younger brother. This story we bring you news about the kickstand everyone loved on the EVO 4G. Sadly it will not be present on the 3D.

HTC ThunderBolt BodyGuardz Carbon Fiberish Armor Application [CTIA 2011]
This year at CTIA 2011, SlashGear and Android Community were contacted by a group called BodyGuardz. This is a group that creates and skins for devices of many shapes and sizes, most notably for us the Motorola XOOM tablet and the HTC ThunderBolt. What BodyGuardz enticed us with was the prospect of getting 2 of their very first custom-cut-on-site HTC ThunderBolt wraps. These wraps were so fresh off the press that the paper backing had no brand and a freshly cut edge. It was like we were in the lab! We were so pumped up that we had to take a couple videos showing the application for all of you to see the loveliness.
