Verizon Labor Day Sales include XOOM, ThunderBolt, Galaxy Tab, Continuum

There's a big handful of devices on sale this weekend up until Labor Day including more than a couple of our old favorites on the Android front. All of these sales are online exclusives and each of them requires a 2-year activation, but beyond that you're in the sweet, sweet discount world. First there's the HTC ThunderBolt which is now $149.99 - this is the only LTE-capable smartphone on the whole list, and buying it here will mean it's pre-owned. Then there's the Motorola XOOM for $299.99 - note that this is a pre-owned model you'll be getting - this is the only LTE-capable tablet on the list. There's a couple of LTE mobile modems on sale too but I'll let you check those out for yourself since they're not Android-based.

HTC Thunderbolt only $0.01 cent at Amazon [Deal]

Just like the old days when I went down to the penny store and bought candy today the Thunderbolt can be yours for the low low price of 1 penny. Although you do have to sign away your contractual rights for 2 years but that is to be expected. Basically sign a new 2-year contract over a Amazon.com and you can have the amazingly fast Thunderbolt with Verizon 4G LTE for only $0.01 cent.

Verizon Extends Free Use of 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot on Mobile Devices Through July 6th

Show of hands - how many of you thought that your use of the internet hotspot you were able to activate on your HTC ThunderBolt, DROID Charge, and LG Revolution was a limited time offer? Indeed this offer was supposed to be finished quite soon, (tomorrow, in fact), but has instead been pushed out until July 6th, 2011. What happens then, you might ask? You'll have to start paying for that service you hold so dear. The note we've been passed by Verizon states that though a $20/GB plan had been in place, either a new offer will be sent or the Mobile Hotspot will be de-activated altogether. Harsh!

Gingerbread Test Build for ThunderBolt Leaked

A buggy test build of Android 2.3 Gingerbread appears to have been leaked from our favorite source for all things HTC oddity: 911HTC! They've got a big fat build by the name of Mecha GINGERBREAD S Verizon WWE 2.01.605.0_ Radio_0.01.69.0501r_ _NV_8K_1.41_ 9K_1.64_test_190987.zip - all that make sense to you? It doesn't have to! All you need to know is that Gingerbread is more than likely on its way to Verizon's HTC ThunderBolt, and by the looks of it, it's coming soon!

HTC Thunderbolt update coming soon?

Earlier this month we reported that the HTC ThunderBolt was dropping the 4G connection to the Verizon network frequently. Verizon had said that an update was coming soon to fix the issue, and then we heard nothing more for a week or more. Apparently, that update is coming soon if a leaked ROM that turned up last week is any indication. The change log for the ROM shows a number of changes that are being made to the smartphone.

DROID Charge Hands-On and Unboxing

How would you like to take a closer look at the newest fabulous addition to the 4G LTE family at Verizon? We just happen to have Samsung's DROID Charge sitting here in a box and we'd love to let you have a look! It's a fat phone with hard plastic chassis, four physical buttons up front, a diamond-shaped housing for a camera in the back, and ultra-fast speeds inside*. The display is a gigantic 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen, and you can take that all the way to the bank - brightness and viewing angles galore! So sharp you're going to cut your eyes open on it!

T-Mobile G2x vs HTC ThunderBolt vs ATRIX 4G vs Sidekick [Physical Comparisons]

We had an extra 5 minutes today, believe it or not, so a few photos were indeed fired off. What transpired here was a comparison photo shoot (with a few specs below too, if you'd like,) that compared the T-Mobile G2x to the Sidekick (just for fun,) then to the HTC ThunderBolt and the AT&T ATRIX 4G. Would you like to know which one is the thickest? It's the Sidekick - spoiler! Would you like to know which one looks the most awesome? That's something you're going to have to decide for yourself. This is an odd assortment you're not going to find anywhere else - I guarantee it.
