Verizon Messages app update will let you message from your smartphone or tablet

Verizon Wireless has announced (and released) the latest update for their messaging app. The app is called Verizon Messages and is now sitting at version 4.0. Those looking for the app will be able to grab it from the Google Play Store and while it will run nicely on your smartphone, this update has added some functionality that will have you wanting to install on your tablet as well.

FCC cracks down on political related robocalls

While politics can be a touchy subject for some, we think most will agree that unsolicited political robocalls may be amongst the most unwelcome of all robocalls. And on that note, it looks like the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has recently begun to crack the whip. Specifically, the FCC has cited two marketing companies for making millions of illegal robocalls.

Text-to-911 emergency services coming to US carriers in 2014

New details have confirmed that the big 4 US phone carriers have agreed to rollout a brand new service in a joint effort with the 911 Association (NENA) that will allow text-to-911 emergency services. Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and the Now Network have all agreed to offer this come 2014. With text messages being such a huge part of daily life we're surprised this didn't happen sooner.
