ASUS Transformer Pad 300 set for US release on April 22nd
If you've been dying to get your hands on some quad-core tablet action but can't stomach the $499 entry price for the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime, you're in luck. The slightly lower-end Transformer Pad 300, the replacement model for ASUS' original Transformer, will hit the United States on Sunday, April 22nd. PC World reports the news from an ASUS spokesperson, who says that pricing won't be revealed until that date - but international pre-orders indicate that a $399 price to match the original Transformer is likely.

LG Optimus 4X HD gets benchmarked
LG's newest flagship the Optimus 4X HD is still a few weeks out, but that hasn't stopped a few industrious geeks from giving the phone the benchmark treatment. Greek site TechBlog.gr put the quad-core phone through its paces and posted the results for gadget hounds everywhere. The conclusions aren't that surprising - they're right in line with our own tests of the HTC One X, the first phone to sport NVIDIA's Tegra 3 processor - but any speed demons out there will be wanting to compare and contrast the numbers.

Toshiba unveils 7.7, 10 and 13-inch Excite tablets running ICS
Watch out, Samsung: there's a new manufacturer looking to cover all the tablet bases. Toshiba's Excite line, previously restricted to a single 10-inch model, grows by three today. The company pulled the curtain off three new entries in the line, with screens sized 7.7, 10 and a massive 13.3-inches, all of them running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with NVIDIA Tegra 3 processors. The Excite 10 goes on sale next month, with the Excite 7.7 and Excite 13 following in June.

NVIDIA Tegra 4 roadmap leaks with 2.0 GHz quad-core
NVIDIA's current flagship Tegra 3 quad-core processor is the current king of the hill, getting all the attention as of late. While we've been comparing it to other offerings from the competition a new slide has leaked today possibly showing off their new Tegra 4 coming later this year. The current Tegra 3 is still new, but they've already got the next big thing in the works.

HTC One X shows NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 is a battery’s best friend
Starting today and all of this week we're getting our first look at the new HTC One series of smartphones. Starting with the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core powered HTC One X, and then the equally impressive One S with the dual-core Qualcomm S4 Krait processor. We've reviewed them both here at Android Community and will link to them below, but what we were impressed with (among many things) was the battery life and conservation.

HTC ONE X Review

HTC ONE X Review
2011 was not HTC's year. Despite what appeared to be a strong start at Mobile World Congress in February 2011, by the tail-end of the year HTC had seen its device sales slump and rivals like Samsung steal its innovation crown, no small shock for the company which had long been known as the Android backbone. 2012, then, sees HTC become the challenger again, and the HTC One X is the powerhouse of that attack. Packing a quadcore Tegra 3 chipset in European form, it's a big, fast answer to those who said HTC had let specifications slip. Question is, does the One X do enough to leave HTC in a solid position ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S III and the iPhone 5?

NVIDIA CEO hints at $200 Tegra 3 tablets

Here's a nice side choice to compliment your main course of Nexus Tablet rumors this evening: NVIDIA CEO spoke with the New York Times about lowering the price of Android tablets. Quote mister Jen-Hsun Huang: "“We took out $150 in build materials, things like expensive memory. At $199, you can just about buy a tablet at a 7-Eleven.” That's a long way from any sort of confirmation, but it shows that NVIDIA is as anxious as we are to lower the price of Android tablets, especially those with high-end components like the Tegra 3 processor.

HTC One X caught in the wild being unboxed on video
The brand new HTC One X has been getting tons of attention, and with good reason. Being HTC's new flagship quad-core smartphone with a huge 4.7-inch HD screen and more. We've been reporting on it all week, mainly that it will be available in parts of China and the UK the first week of April. Today it has already been caught on camera, being unboxed and shown off for all to enjoy. HTC claims "I'm the one you've been waiting for."

SoulCraft breaks out of the Tegra Zone, available for free on Google Play
We love us some NVIDIA Tegra 3 devices here at Android Community, even if they are a little thin on the ground at the moment. One of the best showpieces for the ASUS Transformer Prime has been SoulCraft, a free action RPG that's limited to the Tegra Zone, where it can show off its high-end graphics. Now developer MobileBits has released the game on the Google Play Store, so anyone with a decently powerful Android device can get in on the action.
