Microsoft has been beta testing the Office for Android tablet for some time now but finally, the software giant has released the official app on Google Play Store, as well as, the updated version for the iPhone and iPad.
The Nexus 9 is now available for our hands to hold and, of course, that means that it's also available for a good old-fashioned iFixit-style teardown. While Google's Nexus devices are quite well known for their purity and openness, that apparently only applies to the software. On the hardware side, the Nexus 9 proved to be a rather tough customer, earning it one of the lowest repairability scores we've seen on an Android device.
With all the excitement about Sony's new flagship, the Xperia Z3, owners of the previous flagship Xperia Z2, as well as the Z2 Tablet should be forgiven for thinking that the OEM has already forgotten about them. Apparently, the folks over at Sony were working hard on bringing a major software upgrade, and instead of releasing it next year, they've decided to go ahead and give their users an early Christmas gift. New features include the much talked about PS4 Remote Play as well as the social camera apps exclusive for Sony Xperia users.
We're all, ok maybe most, excited to get the latest Android Lollipop on our smartphones but it seems that the first device to receive the updated OS outside of Google's blessed Nexus line won't be a smartphone at all. NVIDIA has just released a teaser video showing Android 5.0 on its SHIELD Tablet and, in the same breath, mentions that the software update will land on the tablet this November.
If you have been waiting to get your hands on the new Nexus 9, the wait is almost over. Google Play lists the Nexus 9 as shipping only 1-2 days after you order it directly on the website. If that is still longer than you can stand to wait, you may be able to get the device in your hands faster if you order it from somewhere like Best Buy.

Asus has unveiled a new tablet that is aiming at people who are shopping for an entry-level tablet on a budget. The new tablet is called the MeMo Pad 10 ME103K and it has a 10-inch screen with a native resolution of 1280 x 800.
Dell is touting the Venue 8 7000 series as the world’s thinnest tablet, and it might just hold that title at the moment at a razor thin profile of 6.0mm. For comparison, the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact comes in at around 6.4mm and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S is at around 6.6mm. For a tablet that features multiple back cameras and an 8.4-inch OLED screen, this is indeed quite thin.

If you like co-branded tablets and ebook reading gadgets, then you have another great news from Samsung and Barnes & Noble. Just a few months after they released the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 4 Nook, they're now selling a bigger version of it: the Galaxy Tab 4 Nook 10.1. But along with it, they also announced that the new tablet comes with a new Nook software and that this will also be pushed on the 7-inch gadgets as well.
