Nexus 9 gets an iFixit teardown: handle with care

The Nexus 9 is now available for our hands to hold and, of course, that means that it's also available for a good old-fashioned iFixit-style teardown. While Google's Nexus devices are quite well known for their purity and openness, that apparently only applies to the software. On the hardware side, the Nexus 9 proved to be a rather tough customer, earning it one of the lowest repairability scores we've seen on an Android device.

With all the excitement about Sony's new flagship, the Xperia Z3, owners of the previous flagship Xperia Z2, as well as the Z2 Tablet should be forgiven for thinking that the OEM has already forgotten about them. Apparently, the folks over at Sony were working hard on bringing a major software upgrade, and instead of releasing it next year, they've decided to go ahead and give their users an early Christmas gift. New features include the much talked about PS4 Remote Play as well as the social camera apps exclusive for Sony Xperia users.

Nexus 9 now ships in 1-2 days directly from Google Play

If you have been waiting to get your hands on the new Nexus 9, the wait is almost over. Google Play lists the Nexus 9 as shipping only 1-2 days after you order it directly on the website. If that is still longer than you can stand to wait, you may be able to get the device in your hands faster if you order it from somewhere like Best Buy.

Barnes & Noble and Samsung release new Nook tablet

If you like co-branded tablets and ebook reading gadgets, then you have another great news from Samsung and Barnes & Noble. Just a few months after they released the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 4 Nook, they're now selling a bigger version of it: the Galaxy Tab 4 Nook 10.1. But along with it, they also announced that the new tablet comes with a new Nook software and that this will also be pushed on the 7-inch gadgets as well.
