Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has just released on official Android ROM for the Nexus 7 2013 running its MIUI custom interface. While that might actually be somewhat of a non-event, considering how many unofficial MIUI ROMs there are floating around, this official ROM might be a solid indicator that Xiaomi is indeed preparing its first Android tablet.

This latest model is the HP 8 1401 and judging by the specs and price, this is an entry-level tablet and possibly a good option for those shopping with a strict budget in mind.
