If you're the proud owner of the Huawei MediaPad Android tablet, better known as the T-Mobile Springboard here in the U.S. you're about to get an update. Today the folks from T-Mobile have announced they'll be pushing out a software upgrade for the Springboard bringing it to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

T-Mobile sale: Amaze 4G, Springboard and G-Slate for just $49 this weekend
There have been a few sales going on over the holidays, but it looks like T-Mobile is out to beat them for the new year. The carrier is preparing a sale for this weekend, from Friday, January 6th through Sunday, January 8th. The sale is (perhaps not by coincidence) scheduled right before CES 2012. If you're in the market for a few specific Android models, you'll want to pay close attention. Without a doubt, the highlight of the sale is the current leader in T-Mobile's lineup, the HTC Amaze 4G, which will be reduced from $229.99 to just $49.99.

It seems fair to assume most manufacturers are currently (or at least should be) working on updates to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for most of their recent devices. This should come as no surprise for the most part and today we are seeing a few leaked images from the Huaewei MediaPad rocking ICS. This should make that budget tablet much more exciting -- that is for sure.

Huawei MediaPad clears the FCC en route to AT&T
The Huawei MediaPad isn't anything new. It was spotted back in June on video and was quickly announced as a 7" Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet rocking a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm processor and some 3G/4G radios inside. We've seen it at the FCC a few times in the recent past on its way to T-Mobile but today's sighting showed the slate rocking AT&T US bands.

We all love Android tablets but choosing the right one can be a hard decision for some. Especially with the wide array of choices and options available in the market at the moment. Today I'll be showing you some pictures and a quick video comparison between both of the brand new 7" Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablets available starting today from T-Mobile. Those are the T-Mobile Springboard and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. Both are 4G HSPA+ enabled devices and are quite portable. Check out the hands-on video and pictures after the break.
