Any software engineer or system administrator will tell you how syncing data, especially thousands if not millions of them, is a herculean task. Despite that fact, Evernote seems to made miracles happen and has managed to increase synchronization speeds up to four times, an improvement that should not be trickling out to users all over.

BitTorrent Sync shifts to a public beta with an Android app release

BitTorrent Sync has graduated from alpha to a public beta. While it is always nice to see progress being made, in this case the news gets slightly better for those sporting an Android device. In addition to jumping from alpha to beta, there is also an Android app available by way of the Google Play Store. The app, along with use of the service is free and brings promise of being able to "sync an unlimited number of files and folders of any size across all of your trusted devices."

Twitter updated with read message sync across all devices and platforms

Twitter for Android received a rather excellent update today, bringing a feature we've all been waiting for. While the update has multiple changes, the first one is most important. It's cross device/platform sync of read messages. This means once you've read a direct message, it won't be listed as unread online, on your tablet, iPad, or other smartphones.

Samsung SideSync seamlessly blends your PC and Galaxy together

Earlier this month we heard a few comments regarding Samsung SideSync with their Windows ATIV branding announcement, but today we're now getting additional details. Samsung has introduced what they're calling SideSync, which will allow your PC and Galaxy smartphone to work together as one. It doubles as a backup solution, and can you even use your keyboard and mouse on your phone.
