Samsung Galaxy Beam: world’s first Android projector phone

Projector phones were supposed to be “the next big thing” in the evolution of cell phones. So far, that hasn’t been the case, there was a non-Android based projector phone released here in the US recently. Needless to say it didn’t do so well as far as sales goes. I personally haven’t seen one in the wild since it was released. Can Samsung break this technology into the mainstream with the Galaxy Beam?

T-Mobile’s Galaxy S Passes through the FCC

Although we’ve heard that the Galaxy S was headed to every major carrier in the US, it seems T-Mobile might be the first out the gate with their version. It has just passed through the FCC and it could (highly unlikely) make it way to Magenta in time for the free phone promotion this Saturday.

Samsung Galaxy S launches: Europe now, US later in 2010

Having heard talk earlier today about the Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 and a huge simultaneous roll-out, Samsung themselves have confirmed that the Android 2.1 smartphone has launched in Europe, and will follow on to the rest of the world - US included - later in 2010.  The company also confirms the sizeable carrier pick-up, too; apparently over 100 operators are going to be offering the smartphone. As for the Galaxy S itself, that has a 4.0-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, TouchWiz 3.0 user-interface, Swype text input and a 5-megapixel autofocus camera.  There's also a front-facing camera for video calls, WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0.  No word on pricing at this stage. Simultaneous Samsung Galaxy S launch in 110 countries?

Samsung's plans for the incoming Galaxy S Android smartphone certainly can't be described as shy, with the company apparently readying a simultaneous launch in 110 countries.  According to the Korea IT Times, carrier partners will include Orange in France, SingTel in Singapore and Deutsche Telecom in Germany; we're yet to see a full list of the release locations. As for what those 110 countries will get, the Galaxy S runs Android 2.1 with a 5-megapixel camera, 1GHz Hummingbird CPU and a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display.  There's also A-GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and a microSD card slot, together with a front-facing camera for video calls.  No word on an exact release date, but it looks to be imminent.

Yes you read the title right, more details on T-Mobile’s "Project Emerald" are starting to leak. Although, none of the recent information has been confirmed by T-Mobile, this bit of information comes from a few very reliable sources. Tmonews (which is usually dead on regarding T-Mobile stories) and Phonedog are reporting that the device that’s going to head project emerald is the “Sidekick Twist”.
