Samsung hints at S-Pen stylus for tablets

Samsung's Galaxy Note is a surprise hit, due in no small part to its gigantic high-def Super AMOLED screen. But the company has always been bullish on the included stylus, which they refer to as the "S-Pen", as a method of interaction and content creation. In an interview with Laptop Magazine, Samsung marketing manager Ryan Bidan indicated that they're exploring options for bringing the active stylus technology to larger screens, presumably future models in the Galaxy Tab family.

Samsung releases S-Pen SDK for the Galaxy Note

If you're a developer who's excited about the app opportunities inherent in the Samsung Galaxy Note's included capacitive stylus, then break out the Mountain Dew and get ready for some long nights in the warm glow of your monitor. Samsung just posted the 1.0 release of the S-Pen SDK, allowing any developer with the skills and the fancy to create apps that take advantage of the software tools built into the Note. Between the stylus and a full Wacom digitizer it's become an object of desire for the budding smartphone artist.

Samsung lets artists illustrate tweets with the Galaxy Note

We've seen just how impressive the Samsung Galaxy Note's Wacom digitizer is when paired with its built-in stylus, but Samsung is out to prove it. To that end, they've set renowned artists to the task of illustrating individual tweets using nothing but the super-sized superphone. Twitter users submitted tweets to @samsungmobile with the hash tag #createmytweet to enter their tweets for consideration in the Create My Tweet advertising campaign.

Samsung highlights the Galaxy Note’s Wacom digitizer

By now you probably know about the Samsung Galaxy Note's most distinctive feature, that enormous 5.3-inch, 1280 x 800 Super AMOLED screen. Samsung isn't playing down the Note's tablet aspirations, and has included a capacitive stylus - but it's a little different from the one on the HTC Flyer and other third-party styli we've seen before. Namely, it uses Wacom's digitizer technology, not only for superior accuracy, but for advanced pen input features.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich brings native stylus support

We already know that Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be getting all sorts of cool new upgrades and features. The tweaks will be many and a tip has surfaced today that those wishing for a stylus for their device will love. Google has confirmed that ICS will bring with it native support for a stylus allowing the tablet or smartphone to be controlled with the users fingers or a stylus.

Samsung Unpacked at IFA 2011 Full Round-Up

This year's IFA 2011 offering from Samsung brought forth a couple of fantastically amazing Galaxy devices, the first of which is the next step in the Galaxy Tab line with a 7.7 offering complete with a full-metal chassis and a Super AMOLED Plus display. The second is a wholly new concept from Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy Note, a new sort of hybrid piece of hardware that takes the largest screen Samsung decided could fit on a still ultra-portable device, complete with a lovely stylus.

HTC Flyer Stylus gets priced for $79.99 at Best Buy

Recently the HTC Flyer has went up for pre-order at Best Buy. The price listed has been $499 for a while now, there was however no talk about the stylus they have mentioned quite a bit. Something they are calling a digital pen. This is a feature making the Flyer stand out, you can use the digital pen with your hand resting on the display, and it wont get confused from the multiple touches. Fancy for those that need it.

Okay, it's not called that, it's called the Android ThinkPad Tablet. But don't you think ThinkTab is more catchy? Regardless of what it's called, details of the new Lenovo Honeycomb Tablet have been leaked. And Lenovo looks to be catching the Android, and leaving Windows behind.

With every manufacturer you can think of throwing out an Android tablet, and don't forget about oh, the iPad 2. With everyone in the tablet game worried they might not be up to par. Like Samsung feeling the 10.1 Tab is inadequate compared to the iPad 2. HTC is just cruising along at their own speed. Launching what we all know as the HTC Flyer.
