Aereo streaming TV support coming to Android in September

Aereo, for those not familiar, is a service that will allow you to watch live television over the internet. The service will cost you a few bucks each month, but what you get is control over an antenna that will allow you to stream local channels that you would normally get at home. The perk is that you do not need any cable subscription, just an account with Aereo. The drawback here is that Aereo has yet to come available for Android.

Chromecast support promised in future Pocket Casts app update

There are still issues with third-party apps releasing updates that add support for Chromecast streaming, but that doesn't mean those developers cannot begin talking about future updates. We have seen chatter from a few developers up until this point and it looks like one more has come forward with a similar promise. The latest is Shifty Jelly who offer the Pocket Casts app.

Bitcasa to add support for Chromecast streaming

Bitcasa is touted as the service that offers "infinite storage" for your computer, phone or tablet and it looks like users will soon be able to use that storage to stream files to Chromecast. Users can get 10GB of free storage from Bitcasa or upgrade to that infinite storage level for $99 per year. While the pricing seems to be on the lower side, the low price of the Chromecast helped convince them of adding the support.

CyanogenMod Chromecast streaming support teased

Koush has returned with another Chromecast demo and this latest is one that CyanogenMod users will likely be happy to see come available. The promise here is that it is possible to Chromecast everything from your handset. Well, with a handset that is running CyanogenMod. We have yet to see when this would be rolled into ROMs, however Koush has offered a rather compelling demo video.

DirecTV ‘Football on your phone’ ad stars Manning brothers rap song

If you are an NFL Football fan like myself, the video below might be the best thing you've seen all month. In an attempt to show the world that DirecTV offers live NFL games and streaming to our phones and tablets they've paired the nerdy Manning brothers up in their very own rap video. It's amazing, and you won't want to miss it.

Tonido Home Cloud update uses Chromecast to stream from PC to TV

The hype around Google Chromecast has toned down a bit, giving way to a flood of news of smartphone announcements. But it hasn't completely died out, with word of new services supporting the Chromecast or a new, similar device sprouting up once in a while. Joining this fray is CodeLathe's Tonido, a personal cloud service that lets you stream media from your PC anywhere, and now to any TV via the Chromecast.
