Video accounts for 50% of Verizon Wireless network traffic

Coming by way of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference, Verizon Communications CEO Lowell McAdam has said that streaming video now accounts for 50 percent of the network traffic. And extending that out a few years, McAdam believes that streaming video will account for nearly two-thirds by the year 2017.

YouTube may be launching a streaming music service

YouTube related rumors are calling for a subscription based music streaming service. Sky Go spreads: Streaming media for 14 new phones and tablets

BBC iPlayer gets Jelly Bean update and quality boost

The BBC has pushed out a new version of its iPlayer app for Android, bringing the streaming media software up to speed with Android 4.1, and improving the quality of video playback. iPlayer v1.4.2.3 now works with Android devices running 2.2 through to Jelly Bean, and supports streaming over WiFi or 3G.
