Netgear PTV3000 update brings Miracast support for Android devices

Miracast, for those unfamiliar with the name, means you can mirror the display from the device in your hand to your television. In this case we are talking about the Miracast-enabled Netgear PTV3000 meadia streamer and an Android smartphone. And thanks to the recent PTV3000 update -- you can now do just that. This update is currently available for the PTV3000 and brings support for select Android devices.

Plex for Android update teased ahead of public release

It appears as if the Plex for Android app will soon be getting a makeover. In fact, the folks at Plex are describing this as being completely rewritten from scratch and with new features to include lock-screen music controls and global search integration. On the flip side of the new features though, this updated release of Plex for Android will remove support for some older devices.

Pogoplug Mobile promises unlimited content streaming for Android Hands-on

Pogoplug today has just announced their brand new Pogoplug Mobile hardware and software for Android and iOS, bringing unlimited wireless streaming of all your content right to your favorite mobile devices. Pogoplug has been around for a while already and have continued to update their software for Android including a major UI overhaul earlier this month. Today they are back with an all new product.

HDMI Dock for Sprint HTC EVO 4G

Here’s another goodies from Best Buy, there will be an HDMI dock available for the HTC EVO 4G. This dock is expected to be released by the time the EVO hits the streets. This dock will support HDMI 1.4 and should be backwards compatible. But beware, early reviews of the HDMI performance of the EVO has not been favorable. There have been some reviews in which the 108P output was only recognized as 480P.

Acer “Liquid Stream” S110 Passes by the FCC

This device popped up out of nowhere at last week’s Google I/O. it is called the "Liquid Stream” by Acer. And it will be the next release in the “Liquid” series from Acer.  Recently, it received approval from the FCC with AT&T capable bands (850 1900 MHZ).
