Since Android 2.2 was released to developer’s phones recently, modders around the world has been working hard to port it to other Android devices. Froyo may be making its way to the Acer Liquid soon. A video posted by Josselin Cornou shows Android 2.2 running on the Liquid.
Our friends over at SlashGear have recently received confirmation from Motorola that the Droid will be receiving the update to Android 2.2. Although, their reply doesn’t lead us to believe that it will hit the device anytime soon. It is good to hear that there will be other devices other than HTC’s 2010 lineup that will receive Android 2.2.
Recently HTC phones have been a hot commodity, their latest releases have all sold out immediately after it’s released. Some of them have even sold out before they’ve been released. The Droid Incredible is no exception, it is currently sold out nationwide.
One of the best features of Sense UI devices is the ability to turn it off and use Vanilla Android. For some reason there are a few newer Sense devices that don’t allow this. Luckily the EVO isn’t one of them, you can turn off Sense in the HTC EVO 4G.
This is quite odd, Google has long since said the Nexus One will only be available online. But, According to a report featured on Mobile Magazine, Phones4U will carry Google’s Nexus One both on their website and in their retail stores across the United Kingdom. If this is correct they will be first to have a physical device for demonstration purposes and for sale.
The Incredible is available in stores today. Stop by your local Verizon wireless store and play around with the demo unit. Unfortunately if you didn’t preorder, that may be the closest you will get to possessing this phone. Verizon is reporting that this phone has been sold out.
How is this possible? Looks like they’ve learned nothing from the recent Desire debacle where the phone keeps getting delayed due to them not having enough in stock. The Nexus One for Vodafone UK just got a release date of April 30th and it seems those devices are already gone.
The browser options for Android just are growing all the time. If you don’t like the stock browser or just want a change of pace, hit the market and replace the browser (unlike other unnamed OSX’s). Now you can beta test the upcoming Skyfire browser. The XDA has gotten a hold of this app and has shared it with the rest of us.
Yes, the saga continues. The launch of the HTC Desire in the UK has been a huge mess so far. First it’s ready to go, and then there has been delay after delay. T-Mobile may come to the rescues soon with this large shipment of handsets.
It does exist!! The all white version of the X10 has been listed on Orange’s order page. This is my personal favorite off all the X10’s including the Mini’s. If this would’ve come out sooner, I would’ve been the first in line to get it.
