Samsung Mobile audio dock images leak before CES reveal

While speaker docking stations are nothing new, it looks like the folks from Samsung are preparing to release a few dual-speaker docking stations to accompany their popular Galaxy smartphones. Some new photos have leaked out, while a bit fuzzy, showing a Samsung branded speaker dock for their mobile devices that we could be seeing next month at CES.

iLuv ArtStation Pro and MobiDock hands-on

Android is growing by leaps and bounds, especially in the tablet market. iLuv, among others, has started to take notice, and will be releasing a set of speaker docks for Android phones and tablets later this year to complement its more fruity offerings. We caught up with iLuv on the CES 2012 show floor to check out three of their new models, the ArtStation Pro for the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the MobiDock and the MobiAir.

Samsung reveals high-end speaker docks with Galaxy S compatibility

It never rains but it pours. After iLuv revealed its ArtStation Pro dock for the various Galaxy Tabs, I had a feeling we'd be seeing a few more model-specific docks coming out, and just today the Nook Color and Nook Tablet got the treatment via ReaderDock. Samsung itself has announced a new series of audio equipment, all of which will work out of the box with Galaxy S (and presumably Galaxy S II phones).

ReaderDock readies Docking Station for Nook Color and Nook Tablet

before a few months ago, no one seemed interested in model-specific docks for anything more than the iPad, as far as tablets were concerned. But now more than 40% of tablets sold run Android, and a considerable number of those are inexpensive reader/tablet devices like Barnes & Noble's Nook family. Soon there will be a new option for Nook Color and Nook Tablet owners as far as display and music playback is concerned, thanks to small accessory manufacturer ReaderDock. The NOOK Docking station will work with either device.

The Galaxy Tab gets some iLuv with ArtStation Pro speaker dock

Despite beating the pants off of iOS in basically every market, Android's plurality of devices and form factors makes it tough for accessory manufacturers to commit to anything more risky than cases and chargers. But iLuv is serving users of one of the most popular Android tablet lines with its very own speaker dock, to the joy of Galaxy Tab owners and the sorrow of their suddenly slimmer wallets. The ArtStation Pro Audio Dock is compatible with the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, 7.7, 8.9 and 10.1.

Philips Fidelio AS851 Docking Speaker for Android Review

Android users have a virtually unlimited choice when it comes to smartphone hardware, and it's one of the most important advantages of the platform. Unfortunately a wide variety of hardware inexorably means a smaller selection of accessories, especially ones that work with all models. Nowhere is this more evident than in the dock/speaker department. Whereas you can't find a $20 alarm clock without an iPod dock, models that support Android are few and far between. Philips seems to be the only company that's interested in this particular segment, and for that, we're eternally grateful. They sent us the top-of-the-line Fidelio AS851 speaker dock, designed specifically to work with Android smartphones, for review.

Hands-on Philips’ new Fidelio Android speaker docks

Over at sister site SlashGear, they got to spend some hands on time with a trio of new Android specific speaker docks from Phillips. The three speaker docks are in the Fidelio range. The three docking stations all use the Philips FlexiDock that will allow the smartphone to charge and play music from your Android device at once.
