Two more days and the gates of Mobile World Congress will open in Barcelona. After the CES, this is perhaps the next highly anticipated tech event for the 1st quarter of each year. MWC 2015 officially starts on the 2nd of March but we all know a lot of companies will make announcements the day before. For one, there's Samsung finally unveiling the Galaxy S6.

We know how this works – manufacturers tend to test out website elements for new products and try to pull them out as quickly as possible, maybe for real world testing, maybe to get people to start talking about said product. Now, with just a few days left before MWC 2015, Sony is once again busying itself with the device's half successor. As the name would imply, the Xperia E4g is pretty much the same Xperia E4, except for one new feature: it now has support for 4G LTE connectivity, which, when paired with the long battery life, is perfect for keeping connected always.

Sony to no longer pursue sales growth in smartphone, TV business

While Sony surprised even themselves with a recent financial report that showed they actually earned a profit, the shrinking sales in both their smartphone and TV business has led CEO Kazuo Hirai to almost admit defeat in those two sectors. He has recently said the company will no longer pursue sales growth in those areas and will instead focus on products that are actually bringing them profit, which includes the Playstation and camera sensors for mobile devices.

Sony unveils SmartEyeglass Developer Edition SED-E1 in UK and Germany

Sony has trotted out a new set of smart glasses to take on Google Glass called the SmartEyeglasses Developer Edition SED-E1. Pre-orders for the glasses have kicked off today in the UK and Germany where they will first launch. The SED-E1 glasses are transparent lens eyewear that connects to compatible smartphones and overlays various information on the wearer's field of view.

Sony’s attachable smart eyewear module better than Google Glass?

Sony’s “SmartEyeglass Attach!” debuted at CES 2015 in Las Vegas just a few weeks back, the second eyewear technology that Sony has outed to public in recent months. Nobody can deny that it was Google Glass that pioneered this type of wearable smart technology – but as Google Glass is reconsidering its marketing strategy, Sony might have a prime contender in the SmartEyeglass Attach! to take its place.
