Sony readying Jelly Bean for a handful of Xperia smartphones

It is looking like a select group of Sony Xperia handsets will soon be getting an update. Sony has yet to offer a specific timeframe as to when the updates will begin rolling out, however they have begun talking about updates being in the final stages of testing. The details are coming direct from Sony and include talk of the Xperia P, Go, S, SL, acro S and ion.

Sony Xperia devices get native DualShock 3 support

We have seen various game controllers for Android handsets, one of which is the MOGA. Moving forward though, those rocking an Xperia branded device will not need to look towards third party controllers as Sony has announced DualShock 3 support. Basically, this means you will be able to play games on your Xperia device using your DualShock 3 controller.

Sony Xperia ZL arrives for sale in the US

Sony has announced the US availability of the Xperia ZL smartphone. The handset can be found by way of the Sony Store and at the moment -- it is shown as being available for pre-order with a shipping date of April 8. The Xperia ZL is priced at $759.99. While that is obviously more than many are used to paying for a smartphone in the US, the reasoning here is that Sony is selling the Xperia ZL on a contract-free basis.

Sony Xperia Z sudden-death fix now rolling out

Some Sony Xperia Z users had been reporting sudden death issues with their handsets over the past few days. While Sony seems to have been quick to acknowledge the issue, they also seem to have been quick on the fix. The issue at hand was dealing with sudden death. Basically, users were reporting that their Xperia Z had suddenly died and would not come back to life.

Sony Xperia Tablet Z launching in Japan on March 22

Sony had previously announced the Xperia Tablet Z and at that time they had said the global roll-out would begin with Japan. Well, keeping on that same word, we now have some details in terms of the release date. Simply put, the Xperia Tablet Z will be available for those in Japan beginning on March 22. The key here is beginning as there will also be a second release date in Japan.

Sony Xperia L leaks suggest a 4.3-inch display

It looks like a few additional details have recently leaked for an upcoming Xperia device. Sony has yet to offer an official announcement, however it looks like the Xperia L will be bringing a 4.3-inch FWVGA display at 854 x 480. Similar to the lower resolution of the display, the remaining features of the Xperia L look to be mid-range at best.

AT&T Sony Xperia TL Jelly Bean update begins

It looks like the Jelly Bean update process has begun for the AT&T branded Sony Xperia TL smartphone. Unfortunately that bit of good news does come with a catch. The update process has just begun and at the moment we have yet to see any reports of the update arriving over the air. Basically, Jelly Bean is coming for the AT&T Xperia TL, however there is a bit of a hassle to get it updated at the moment.
